I feel like one of those chickens someone soothes to sleep, this thing just hits all the right spots! It's a perfect hugging size even for an adult, a little bit of weight to it, and a few different types of textures available for fiddling with. All around it's fantastic! I honestly feel bad taking a star away but it is a slightly jarring problem that I feel won't be just for me. The vibration in the unicorn itself is on a timer and it can be disruptive when it suddenly goes off. It would be nice if it had a gentle fade out instead. That might be a bit of an ask but if nothing else different timer functions feel like they were needed. The vibration doesn't last very long and when you're trying to focus on the sensation of something else to come back to yourself it can take a lot of time depending on the situation.I still get a lot of good out of it and I think many people on the spectrum or who just get joy from sensory objects will love it. It's helped me a lot and quickly become a favorite!

This unicorn is amazing. My daughter has sensory issues and this helps calm her down. This company is absolutely amazing. It plays music, it also has a couple different vibrations patterns and you can also have a personal recording. Definitely recommend this unicorn and this company.

This lovely unicorn therapy pillow is for our four-year old niece who has several anxiety issues. We were pleasantly surprised to discover one of the best features of this pillow that isn’t even mentioned in the product description: you can record a 5-minute message or music of your choice that will play on this pillow. It is easy to do and it works well. Hearing her mom’s voice through this pillow is a big plus!Here’s what else you need to know.1. Unicorn is large but not heavy, very soft, and arrives compressed but plumps up nicely.2. Unicorn’s belly is a zipped compartment that holds the control unit which is easily removed or reinserted. It’s a concealed zipper so it’s close to the fabric edges. Open and close it slowly.3. Whichever settings you choose are activated when the pillow is hugged and stop automatically after 3 minutes if hugging stops.4. After you set up your preferences for sounds & vibrations, you don’t have to remove the controls again until you want to change a setting.5. The on/off switch is also the volume switch.6. You can choose regular vibrations or heartbeat. I prefer the regular vibrations because the heartbeat is too thumping. I think low volume is enough but I don’t like loud sounds under any circumstances.The control unit is the heart of the unicorn. It’s the large purple disc in the photo. The instruction sheet is pretty clear and it’s worth spending about fifteen minutes to review the setting options and understand how they work in order to make best use of the pillow. The diagram shows the microphone in the wrong place but you’ll figure out pretty quickly that it’s next to “Record”.One thing that was confusing at first is the diagram points to a “Large Top Button” as if there is only one. There are several, around the top edge, one at each of the setting options. These activate the vibration and sound when the pillow is hugged. If you use the on/off switch while you’re adjusting settings and nothing happens, push one of these buttons to activate otherwise you might think the batteries are dead.This therapy unicorn is recommended for both quality and function.
