I absolutely LOVE this router. It's my go-to whenever I'm traveling. The size, features, and functionality are unmatched; hands down the best, most portable travel router for the cost. The battery life is great also.

Works great with Verizon. Great for those who are on the road a lot and can’t quite rely on hotel internet. Speeds are entirely dependent on the area. I bought this and used it first in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre PA area, and was seeing speeds from anywhere from 20-60 mbps. When I used it in the Benton harbor MI area, I was seeing a bit more (both had full bars of signal). Ping on this during games is SIGNIFICANTLY better than on hotel WiFi. You can also use this unit as a repeater. Gl.iNet sells a dedicated pocket router that acts as a repeater and WAN, that isn’t all that much cheaper than just getting this, so the value for money on this is pretty great. I use a generic network switch to get more ports and it works great.BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN THE IMEI OF THE ROUTER BEFORE YOU CHANGE IT IN CASS YOU NEED IT AGAIN.The “app” that this uses is very powerful, but could be confusing to those that are new to networking terms and protocols.WOULDN’T recommend to beginners, or those who can’t follow a guide. There’s a huge community on these, but they all speak assuming you already know the basics.

Seems very secure with the open-wrt firmware, lots of options for VPN, Wifi, Cellular, and works well. Took a star off as it gets EXTREMELY hot sometimes. Easy to set up and connect, very portable, battery life seems great. I feel it was a bit expensive, but with all the features it has, not too bad. Proprietary USB C for the External Ethernet Port is a bit diabolical...

First, this product is great. That said, if you are not comfortable learning new things it might be a bit harder to use. It covers dozens of options from just LTE / Wired internet access point, being a bridge to hotel and plane networks, to LTE backup for home networks. If you think it isnt working for your use case, you are probably doing it wrong. The ability to add extra plugins from openwrt is awesome and the 7k battery storage is nice. This replaced an LTE modem _and_ my hootoo travel hub at the same time.Normal use cases:cell signal for internet in GL -> all your devices (set in router mode). Works great for both wifi connections and wired ones.hotel or airplane internet -> GL -> all your devices (set in repeater mode). You connect GL to plane or hotel, you connect all your devices to GL.Advanced cases:cell signal for internet in GL as fall back to normal internet (Cable, fiber, etc) -> home router. Works out the box with unifiwired internet into GL as Access point -> wifi for all your devicesrv with skylink + GL -> wifi to all devices on the move. (failover or loadbalancing)

I spent 6 hours on this setting back and forth, basically it is not worthed, AT&T prepaid 50gb card 2 gb spent on testing. This all you can get. BTW i tried alternative APN settings, i think i will start a return process. This device cannot reach advertised speeds with AT&T.Update: I give up and ordered a unlocked at&t netgear, boooom: the download speed with the same simcard reached to 200mb/s . Do not loose time with this device, best solution is to buy a working AT&T product if you are using a AT&T prepaid account , i hope this review will help someone. BTW i had also spend a two hour with the AT&T help center. This purchase was a total frustration.

I wanted to like this router. The fact that it runs OpenWRT and provide a lot of options were huge bonuses for me. It made it easy to, say, spoof an IMEI so I could get free cellular hotspot from my free cell line. The ability to mutl-WAN via wifi, ethernet, and cellular were also huge. The built-in VPN and Adguard support were a nice bonus. The big problem was that this modem only supports LTE. 5G support would have been nice. GL.iNet makes 5G routers but only for RV. They recently refreshed The Mudi but only for eSIM support. Why not throw a 5G modem in? The wifi on this thing is also quite poor. I get better wireless speed from my LTE-only iPhone XS max over hotspot with the same SIM card. Strangely, a lot of the times, the upload speed is higher than the download speed. This is true regardless of whether the Mudi is using cellular or even ethernet. The ethernet is another issue. I have gigabit internet. I don't expect Mudi to be pulling gigabit speed but like it's like 20mbps down at best over wifi. I get 200+ mbps with my old Airport Extreme on wireless AC. I have also found the wireless connection to be somewhat unstable from time to time too. Connecting to the Mudi via the app or even the browser can be hit or miss, sometime it just doesn't load.Overall, this could be a compelling package if GL.iNet improves on the WiFi performance and puts a better 5G-compatible chip (with mmWave support, please). Please also integrate an ethernet port into the router instead of having me to attach a dongle and please make it at least gigabit, 100mbps in this day and age is way outdated.

Works well with cellular and LAN. Setup is easy. Overheats a lot and battery drains on standby.

I've been using the v1 and v2 versions of the Mudi since 2022 or so.This is the best travel router on the market. The Netgear Nighthawk, while being much more powerful, can't hold a candle to it.It's form factor makes it perfect for stashing in your bag or luggage.It can repeat just about any Wi-Fi signal with minimal additional latency, and the cellular hotspot feature works extraordinarily well (and indispensable at conferences where it seems that no matter how large the conference center you're working at is, the Wi-Fi is always just slightly slower than an escargatoire of snails trying very hard to cross a busy road).Finally, it's battery life is fantastic. It lasts the eight hours it says it does.The Mudi is your new travel companion. Get it!
