Q: Will older Maxtra filters (not Maxtra+) fit this new Aluna jug?

The new design of the Aluna jug now has the perfect fit valve. The PerfectFit valve ensures that our filters fit perfectly into our jugs and filter all the tap water reliably. The water will only run through the water filter cartridge if a BRITA Maxtra+ filter is firmly and properly inserted. When the Maxtra+ replacement cartridge is properly inserted it pulls up the valve which then allows the BRITA filtered water to pass through - BRITACare

Q: How often do you need to change filters?

The capacity of a BRITA filter cartridge varies depending on the composition of the water being filtered and the amount of water filtered. The guideline of 4 weeks (one month) is based on average use in an area of average water hardness. In areas with very hard water it is usually the hardness in the water which exhausts the cartridge more quickly. Filtering more water will also have an effect on the life of the cartridge. BRITA estimate that each cartridge should have an active life of about 100 litres water filtration per cartridge. Kind regards, BRITACare
