Perfect CNC - Highly recommend
I spent weeks going through all the CNC manufacturers on the net and Amazon (of course). With so many to choose from, it was an exhausting process. Luckily, I was able to find the Genmitsu 4030 V2 and ordered it. It arrived in just 2 days (Amazon, of course) and I was anxious to get it up and printing. It took less than an hour to unpack and assemble - it comes partially assembled. I am amazed at the construction - every part is cut and milled to perfection. The directions were easy to follow - even the cabling was well marked and there were pictures, a good thing. I do much better when there are pictures.I spoke to several users who had various different CNC machines and received a lot of feedback on what I needed, as a new CNC user. I wanted a midsize unit, with enough creative space and a good starting path. Ultimately, that led me to the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2. It is large enough for my use and can also be expanded when I am ready for a larger unit.Software: I had been researching the various vendors to see what software is used on a PC for direct connection. Genmitsu had it covered. The directions were easy to follow and took me about 20 minutes to install and my PC was directly connected. No copying files to a memory stick. Just design and send. You can also use remote access on your cell phone. Not sure that will ever be needed, but it's there.I have also found other software that work with CNCs - my current trial is with Easel (free for 30 days). There is also Fusion 360 and Vectric which I will also be trialing.I am also impressed with the support - I had several questions to ask and I got immediate responses from Jamie. This was a HUGE plus for me.I've been very impressed with the quality of the machine and the support - those are the two main reasons I purchased the Genmitsu. The machine also does metal , acrylic, MDFAlmost forgot - the machine does laser engraving. Something I will be delving into as a side use.Having fun and creating things - what better time spent? ENJOY

Go ahead and get this one
I gave it 5 stars because it just worked. I've watched other people put a whole lot of time into assembly and software and settings... And this was pretty painless. I gave 4 stars for "For Beginners" because it still doesn't come right out of the box ready to go. Tech Support gets 3 stars because even though the manual is nicely printed, the instructions are incomplete, and the images may be too small for some people to discern.1) All the tools you need for assembly are in the box. This includes a USB drive with the driver and Candle software which controls the CNC.2) Screws are labelled and there is one extra of each.3) Mounting the gantry is pretty obvious. Mounting the wiring may take a bit of intuition. However, all of the wired connections (2 for each motor and the spindle) are labelled so there's no excuse for not connecting this up correctly. The wires are all ganged together in a single cable. It comes with a USB cable.4) Copy the contents of the USB drive to your computer. Unzip the and install the driver.5) The Candle software (Windows, Mac or Linux) doesn't need installation.6) Power it up. Select the correct USB port.7) Press the home button and the CNC should find home in 3 axes.8) For a test - to see the device do its thing - jog the spindle (sans cutting bit) to the forward/left quadrant of the cutting service and bring the spindle down about 50 mm, a few inches above the cutting surface. Be careful to not hit any limit switches while doing this.9) Load one of the example files and press send. The CNC should turn on the spindle and start outlining the image. You can track progress in the Candle app.If you do hit a limit switch - not during the home sequence - while manually jogging the or running a file the "Alarm" flag will show. Hit the unlock button and jog the motor away from the home switch. You may have to do this twice.

The support is slow and so far a very bad experience.
I received the product and it went together nicely. I cut my first part the same day. A week later I started to work with it and I found when I get to around one inch from the end of travel on the right the closed loop controller starts to vibrate. I tried to fix it for a while. The controller is hunting and not able to lock into a position because the X screw has a lot of slop at that end.It has been about a week since contacting support. It takes a full business day for every response. They have been giving me the run around. Starting with them not being able to find my order, then asking for videos to show them what is wrong. And them telling me to try x, wait a day, then y wait a day, now z wait a day. Since each exchange takes a full business day for them to respond and caused me to go outside of Amazon's return window. I even asked them to just sell me the ball screw and that request was ignored. They don't appear to sell repair parts. I can't find a BOM which will make buying a compatible ball screw difficult. Unless the device is perfect right out of the box you are going to be down for a long time waiting for your 1 year warranty repair part and I imagine when you are out of warranty you may be forced to find suitable repair parts on your own from other vendors.-------------------------------------- Update-----------------------------I must have caught them during a holiday in their country. The week after I left the review they started to respond pretty quickly. They explained that they had part shortages. But they said they'd replace the ball screw in two weeks and it arrived in one week. The machine itself is very easy to work with and modify. The repair part was easy to install and the slop/hunting is gone.
