Used it same day of delivery, defrosted a piece of meat, very quick, then used it under a casserole to diffuse the heat, very pleased with it .

It really does stop sauces etc burning on the bottom of the pan when on a long simmer.

It's so much better than my previous one, flat, pans sit on it better, distributes heat evenly, stays flat even when hot.

The media could not be loaded. It got stained and distorted after only one month's use. Don't buy it.

Loved it at first then somehow it picked up this ring which is impossible to remove. Tried ciff/scour etc. now too marked to want to keep

I bought this because I wanted to protect the bottom of my cookware from discolouring (which it does), but I found the increased energy consumption bothersome. The heat diffusion function makes sense for braising, but for other cooking methods that don't typically take a long time, the inconveniences (cooking time prolonged and flame control less responsive) outweigh the benefits. For my biggest burner, it's also dangerous to use this plate because it drives the flame to its rim (creating a fire ring 24cm in diameter) and gets quite close to the control knob.I no longer use it so much on my gas burners, but as a aluminium plate it's still great for defrosting, or any other tasks that require fast heat transfer like cooling down hot pots etc.
