Very light and portable, but needs strong sunshine

I bought this for charging my phone when on cycling tours. It works fine but it's quite slow. (2-3 hours for 10% of battery) It needs uninterrupted sunshine, ie no cloud and no shadows. Also if you leave it charging when the sun goes in it works backwards, taking charge back from the phone. As I am very interested in minimizing weight it suits me. I would buy another when this one gives out

Not bad

It works and keeps working but just not enough power each day to charge up a camping light but this is probably because I need a bigger unit but over all good I haven’t had any problems with this and would recommend however look at what you want to charge as it might be a bit small

Doesn’t work, waste of money

Never worked, feels cheap and badly made. Don’t bother buying.

Will need to purchase charging bank (not mentioned)

Dislike: unable to attach suction cups to the solar panels. Also you will need to purchase a power bank WHICH was not mentioned.

Great for my use-case

I have this permenantly powering an Aqara Roller Blind Driver, and it does an excellent job at keeping the battery constantly topped up. It’s thinness is a big selling point too… it sits perfectly flush with the window and doesn’t get in the way whatsoever.

Not bad actually

So I put this up in my bedroom window on a clear autumn day in November and initially charged a battery pack to 30% in an hour. Connected to an iPhone XS and got about 25% charge in an hour. It was sunny almost all this period. There does seem to be a light intensity threshold before the charging kicks in. On a cloudy November day, it took pretty much 6-7 hours to charge the same bat pack to 50%. Defiantly works. I wonder what it will be like in the summer. I think a 20W version would have been a better purchase. Bios quality is reasonable also. I didn’t get it to power a raspberry pie at any point directly however.

more like 0.78W charging

Honestly, I don't know what I was expecting out of this?It does what it should, it converts sun into electricity but it's pitiful. I tried to charge an old iPhone SE to test it out, put right under the sun in the heatwave with no clouds in the sky and sun that could cook eggs, and it barely charged it from 42% to 58% over the span of 6 hours. That iPhone does not require more than 5W to charge, and even under ideal conditions this solar panel does not even come close to producing it's advertised 7.8W... It's also somewhat misleading because the title only says 7.8W, but usually power output is measured in Wh which is Watts/Hour rating. So 7.8W per day maybe?

Solar Panel

First surprise: the actual size which has been given in the description, but one does not always reads all things (I own another solar panel which is 3x the size of this one).Second surprise: my panel did not include a cable - again maybe something that was in the description, I have missed (again).Third surprise: not all USB cables seem to fit, but managed to find a suitable one in my collection. So, placed on the windowsill (1st floor and very sunny aspect) and connected to a power bank and it started to charge it. Also seems to be charging on not so bright a day.Have since charged my mobile from the power bank and can only say: it works and (so far) I am very pleased with it and can recommend it.Will update should I find out more .
