Updated Information:For those who seem to be having problems with clogging and low output. All fog machines no matter what the cost are prone to clogs and require maintenance after use to prevent breakdown. I have stated in my review below that the included fog juice is not really ideal to use in your Venue fogger. Considering what these machines cost wholesale the manufacturers aren't going to include juice which can might cost more then the unit itself. If you hear the pump groaning or the output is low it's not getting enough juice or the juice is to thick and it should never be run dry.The problem is that most fog juice is made from Glycerin or Glycol which is very sticky by nature. So you use your machine then let it sit for an extended period afterwards and the residue begins to clog the unit. There are many tutorials and videos out there which explain exactly how to unclog. Hopefully this will save someone a few headaches and prevent others from having to return units that aren't actually defective.Original Review:I have used a few entry/consumer level fog machines and they all perform nearly the same. Some brands actually over state their true wattage to mislead buyers and have even admitted such. It will take nearly the same time to fill a larger venue no matter if you have 400w or 600w. Save a few bucks and get the Venue rather then paying for a brand that wont add performance value. Figure around 10-15 minutes 3-5 long bursts to fill a large room with thick fog. Stronger machines can fill a room quicker but they also produce a heavier initial cloud which may or may not be desired.With the Venue you get an auto switch where other brands in the same entry range are all manual control. Also they have a 450w version which is said to crank a bit more fog (two ultra's = better value + redundancy) for longer intervals. This unit however spits out fog for nearly a full minute once it has a chance to properly warm up. I have seen much more expensive units able to run for less that half the duration. So if you use the right juice mixture this unit will produce amazing results for the price.Check my review of Froggys Swamp Fog Juice Longest Lasting Fog Fluid - Gallon which needs to be diluted for use in the Venue but offers amazing hang time.Also you can extend the 6' remote cord using Belkin F3A102-06 AC Extension Power Cord (6-Feet) to make it 12' which may also work with some other machines.For the price you really can't go wrong unless your unit arrives DOA. It's as good if not better then any other in it's class and lighter then metal units. My only complaint (hard to complain for the price) is the included juice makes the machine perform poorly. Good enough to be sure the unit works or fog up your bedroom. But do consider buying quality fog juice which will provide much better performance. Not all juice is created equal and the cheap stuff will actually dissipate quicker costing you much more in the end. I can fill my entire 1800+ Sqft house with haze in about five minutes using just one of these machines.

I bought this thinking that it would add production value to lighting scenes for shooting movies... For that reason alone, this is great as it produces a nice, thick, diffiuse fog that does not stay on the ground and creates a nice smoky room to improve lighting... The only thing I was not aware of was that the volume of fog fluid used to create this smoke is much higher than I had anticipated. You need lots of fluid if you want to keep it running all night long or if you're in a place where the smoke will diffuse quickly out of the area and you'll need to have the machine on continuously. The box comes with a small bottle of fog fluid that really is good for one use... I don't think you can have the machine on with that much fluid continuously for too long... I went through it in less than one hour... (I don't know if this i normal or not as I have no previous experience with these types of machines)...again, for my purposes of creating just enough smoke to improve lighting, this is a great find at a great price.. but just wanted to share my impression that a lot more fog fluid is needed than I had though. Prior to this purchase, I had read up on fog machines and their care. It seems to be general agreement among pros (people that use them all the time: DJs, haunted house operators, and people that are really into extravagant Halloween house displays) that fog machines go bad quickly if you try to use your own mixture of fog juice. And that you must clean them by running a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water through the machine. They nearly all agree that Froggy's juices are the best. (different types of Froggy's juice is available.) There is so much write-up on the need to clean issues, that I wanted to make sure that it was done right... and IMMEDIATELY after use. So I had my vinegar and water mixture premixed and ready to go immediately after using the machine. I ran the machine for a half hour with the stuff cleaning it. I feel that I took the best care of it as anyone possibly could. It did not work at all the second time I turned on the machine. It got hot, as it was supposed to, but no fog came out. This was an EXCEPTIONAL bummer, because the first time I turned it on, was for a test a week before Halloween. The second time I turned it on was on Halloween, where it did not work. Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this as an inexpensive solution to creating a semi-legitimate light show for a small concert. We played in a room about 35'x 15' with high ceilings (about 14')... Given the price, I had low expectations, especially for such a "large" room. WELLL! we left the thing running, and went out to smoke a cigarette and came back 10 mins. later to a room completely filled with smoke.You can leave it switched on and it will spew out about 40 seconds of fog every few minutes or so, and it really only takes a few cycles to fill a decent sized room. It made our laser light show look absolutely incredible.All in all i am very pleased with this purchase. for only $20 I don't see the need to buy anything bigger unless you are already playing bigger venues or outdoors.Only downside is the plastic housing, but it does at least feel sturdy.

I purchased 4 of these for Halloween, and overall they were well worth the low price. They are tiny in size, much smaller than my previous plastic 400 watt foggers. 1 of the 4 arrived with a broken fuse holder on the inside. Fixed that with a fuse holder from one of the old plastic ones. A 2nd one had a wire that fell off of the thermal switch so it wouldn't heat but thought it was hot. Easily fixed that too. Not very impressed with the quality control, but less hassle than sending them back and exchanging them right before Halloween. I would order more, but I think I'll get more of the 1000 watt foggers instead.
