Took a bit of working out with Freestyler but great product for the price
For the price this is great - did exactly what I want. Took some searching to work out what to select this as on Freestyler, but I selected Enttec Open DMX and it worked immediately with my Kam Ultracluster RGB (once I had set the DMX address on the Laser to 1).Great piece of kit to start with DMX programming of lights. I downloaded the driver by searching for the FTDI chip website and following the instructions on the drivers section of that website. Just treated myself to a new Laserworld EL 400 RGB so can't wait to see how the controlling of this works out. The cable isn't that long, but i bought a DMX male to female 3 pin lead and just connected them together and it works a treat. Great stuff.

Got it to work with lightkey eventually!
This was cheap, so didn't expect much. Looks ok out of the box. Plugged it into my Mac running Sierra and lightkey and it was indeed recognised by lightkey as eurolite usb/dmx. When I selected this and moved to the next stage you have to select the output for the universe. When I selected the eurolite usb/dmx in the output preferences then continued to lightkey I got zero response from the lights. Nothing. I thought it was a dud but strange that it did actually show up as being plugged into the computer. So I went back to the output preferences and disabled the eurolite usb/dmx, and instead enabled the "open dmx interfaces". Then from the output pop up window there is a drop-down list for "output via" from which you select "FT232R USB UART". this worked and had full control in lightkey. The lights do occasionally blink very slightly, but for the money it's good. (I did also install ftdi ft232 driver but I don't know if that made a difference, it still won't work using the eurolite usb/dmx auto settings, only open dmx works). Hope it helps someone. Almost drove me bonkers!

Do not waste your time and money.
Absolute garbage. If it wasn't for the fact that it cost over £20, I'd have thrown it in the bin and not bothered with the hassle of returning it. The FTDI drivers will not load on W8/10/11 and QLC+ refuses to load when this is plugged in.

A perfect cheap dmx adaptor
Brought this to use with Freestyler and have to say it works a treat. Took a little playing about to work out what adaptor to set it as as the manual didn't say. But once I'd worked that out it performed perfectly. One thing to note is it does need to be plugged in before you load up Freestyler or it doesn't initialize.

Caused unacceptable flicker with my fixtures.
Apparently well known for causing flicker due to the way in which it generates sync from the host CPU. My setup has fallen victim to this, so it's of no use to me.Edit to add that changing the frequency of the interface has fixed it, so I was a little quick to rush to judgment there.

Good value for money.
Firstly, ignore the bit on this page about setting your app to dmx512, using Enttec Open DMX works with this cable, not dmx512. It's pretty basic but it feels well made and it does the job at a low price. What more could you ask for. Most the negative reviews clearly purchased it presuming it was a mic interface; it's not, don't buy it if you want to do that, get a cheap behringer interface or something instead.

Soundswitch compatible
Purchased this as an impulse buy, because my soundswitch interface wasn’t going to be here the next day. Wasn’t sure if this would work or not. It does. It works fine with soundswitch. Inbox it, plug it in, away you go. Didn’t even need to use the driver downloads and setup ( because soundswitch was already installed) would recommend this product.
