Just what I was looking for
I ordered this to be used as a stage wash light for an upcoming backyard concert / party we are having. I put it on a 12' T bar light stand and aimed it down at about 45 degrees and it works GREAT. A lot of reviews I have seen are complaining about the light being too bright - thats fine and it is really bright, but wouldn't it be worse for it to be too dim. The way I see it is I can always do what some of the YouTube tutorials are doing and put auto window tint on it if it ever bothers me - although so far it hasn't. The light does have a lot of different modes and some settings for each mode - by no means is this a complaint but the different settings are kind of confusing. Again not a big deal - I will probably end up printing out a list of what they are and stick it to the back for reference. All in all I think this is a great light and for the price I will probably be buying another very soon.John

disappointing
it works, but not very bright. i use a obey 10 to control the sequence. the fader will not work with these lights. so very diassapointed. I sent this back and baught a different wash light. the reviews say this wash new light can be controlled by dmx and will fade in/out.

Nicely done - with a little clarification
I was looking for a rapid multi-color flashing strobe effect for certain music passages. All the other modes available made this the perfect choice. Just to be clear, the master/slave mode only works with DMX control (when you want to link up more than one unit.) I don't have a DMX controller....yet. (I'm dumb like a fox that way, now I have an excuse to give the wife for buying a controller!) An added bonus; the automated sound chase mode is pretty entertaining when you're not playing a standard dance tune. It appears that the programming actually anticipates changes!

Disappointed
Bought one of these to try for small venues (we run a multi-op DJ company). It worked for about 2 months and then just stopped. It would not power up - nothing. Called customer service and they said they would email a return authorization number and instructions. A week went by and no email. I emailed them, and they said they had sent it to the wrong email address, but here it is. I read the attached return instructions and learned that: 1 - the 2 year warranty is from the date of manufacture, not the date of purchase. So if you happened to buy one that has been sitting on a shelf for 18 months, your 2 year warranty is for 6 months. 2 - You have to return it in the original box with all the nuts and bolts it came with for warranty service. OK - we have 18 DJs. I have lights and gear all over the place. If I was to save every box stuff came in, I'd need another studio just for that. I called and explained that I no longer had the box. I was told that I could still return it, but I would have to pay shipping both ways and for the cost of the repair. So it sits on the shelf, dead - as is my relationship with Chauvet. Hello ADJ.

Good Wash
Was very pleased with these units when recieved. Unfourtunatly, I had one unit of the two that I got that has an issue with a constant flickering that's an issue in all modes and configurations. Very frustrating as I was depending on these for a gig, but it can't be helped, it happens sometimes I suppose... Also very disappointed that an exchange was not available from the seller... Here's hoping that the price stays the same...Otherwise, very versitale wash, very light weight, seems sturdy enough, love the ability to chain them or run parrallel. Good response to DMX controled sound mode, can make some nice strobish style sound activated presests. The Sound mode on the unit itself was a little iffy IMO. Would be nice if the pre-installed programs were a little more intellegent to alleviate the need for DMX programming to really get these things awesome for a novice lighting user, but with an OBEY 40, and also the dedicated foot controller, I was very happy overall, and will be getting two more for upwashes soon.Sold by: Seetha Singhhttp://www.amazon.com/shops/A3TH1HBFN0UYBE/ref=aag_d_sh

I love it except fo one thing...
i love the light except for one thing... you can't get a good/decent amber color out of it unless you connect it to a DMX controller (or set it to white and use amber colored gels taped on to the light which i have successfully done). I am not that good with DMX so i have to call chauvet to get some instruction on how to set it up right, but so far the colors are bright, rich and they cover a good amount of space. i use it as a backlight for my DJ facade. im thinking of buying a few more to add to my up-light set up.

They maybe last a year or two They don’t stand behind it.
We bought 7 of these. One stopped working except to flash obnoxiously once in a while. Several other flicker or have dead LEDs.I contacted Chauvet, and they responded with a heel dragging “fill out all this paperwork, dig out all your receipts, send them in at your expense, pay $50 each “diagnosis fee” and maybe we will fix it and send it back to you at your expense.”In other words, get lost.
