A great cooking dish that can disguise itself as a serving dish
Based on the previous review amd p my own mothers reaction when I showed it to her, I think there confusion about this cooking dish. The previous reviewer seemed bothered that this had a couple of smudge on The seemed to me to be a bit harsh until I realized that he didn't realize that they thought it was a serving dish. Now, it is a very lovely cooking dish and one might imagine that it was a decorative dish. But it isn't, not really. It is a cooking dish that can go directly onto your table and it is tempered to keep the food longer than another cooking plate would. But it is a rather surprising for a dish this attractive to be a cooking dish. It isn't just a good dish at keeping food warm; it is great at keeping thing things cod or cool after being refrigerated. So it is a rather special dish in a lot o ways.It also important to care for it properly. No dishwasher. Ever. Don't store food for long periods of tie in it. They do not recommend olive oil because it can burn at higher temperatures. If possible, always clean this dish when warm and if possible clean it with Armetale Metal Polish. If you can't, you should blend vinegar or water with baking soda with a soft cloth. Slight bubbling might occur. Riinse thoroughly with warm water.

Beautiful tray.
This is a beautiful serving tray. It's generously sized and quite attractive. My husband and I like to have friends and family over for dinner and seem to never have enough serving trays or platters. I like this one because it looks formal enough for the Thanksgiving table. The silver goes with just about anything and looks good with my everyday dinnerware as well as my fine china.What really sets this tray apart is its versatility. The serving tray is safe at temperatures up to 1000 degrees. It easily goes from the oven or grill to the table and helps to keep hot foods hot. I don't see this as practical for actually cooking because the tray is rather shallow; however, it works very well for keeping foods hot in the oven. It also helps to keep foods cold -- chill the tray in the fridge before serving cold foods. I used it to serve deviled eggs the other day and the tray stayed cold for quite some time. I am sure I will use it for Thanksgiving, which we host for a large number of people.The tray feels very solid and has a nice heft to it without being heavy or difficult to manage. It's easy to clean with hot, soapy water and should not go into the dishwasher. This piece reminds me of something my grandmother would have loved and really seems like an heirloom piece.
