Perfect tool for crafters
As a new crafter there was nothing more confusing than trying to understand the size of wire I'd need for each of my planned projects simply by reading descriptions. This tool helped immensely. Now I can easily determine, before I buy, the proper gauge wire I will need by using this tool. I've also found it helpful for simple bends in my wire when needed by sliding the wire through the proper slot and bending one end of wire. The gauge has enough weight to it to make it stable and will not bend under normal pressure for crafters.

First off the product is not new. It has been used and\or sloshed around the beat up plastic bag that in came in on the metallic disk. It was made for car - audio speaker wire gauges. One side ranges from 0 guage all the way up to 36 guage. The flip side has all metric numberals from .3125 to .0109 sizes. I thought it be in a better shape than it what already is.

I never ever overspend
Lots of great informative here on this piece of metal . And so easy to use . If it does not fit with ease then it’s the next size up . I wonder how many times this would have saved me time and frustration on a project?

Poorly Made - Sharp Edges
This is a very poorly machined hunk of metal. Edges are so sharp they will cut your fingers and scratch anything you set this down on.

Does not work on jewelry wires.
I will return this item because it does not accurately measure my aluminum jewelry wire. I may have ordered the wrong item. Delivery was fast, product sturdy and easy to read.GG

This tool is for Steel sheet metal, not wire...
Come to find out after some internet research that this scale is used for steel sheets and not wire at all. Disappointing and misleading.

Top seems to be AWG, bottom is diameter in inches. Not a wiff of metric :-(

Awesome product, great price
Refurbishing wiring harness & general wiring repairs motor vehicles. Strip the insulation & check the gauge, which is measured in the slot, not the hole. Takes the guesswork out of matching cable sizes with original or running heavier cable for when using 100w or higher globes in the headlights etc. Quick & easy, should have bought one years ago.
