Died at the 8 month mark . . . .
First photo is one of my two 5-year-old Greenworks 40V-4Ah batteries in its charging cradle with the charging LED lit. Second photo is my 8-month-old Joiry 40V-5Ah in the same charging cradle. The charging LED will not illuminate, which leads me to believe that I now have a 2lb-9oz paperweight on my hands. Before yesterday, the less-expensive Joiry compatible worked fine. Battery life seemed comparable to the originals, even though it supposedly had a 1Ah greater capacity. (Not sure how they did that, given its weight is more than a quarter-pound less than the Greenworks.) So I had thought that the Greenworks batteries were outrageously priced, and saved myself $45 by going the compatable route. Once again, the concept of false economy has reared its ugly head.

Works Excellent so far
AND the PRICE is GREAT!Update: On 11-22-18 . . .The battery is still working excellent in my 40 volt chainsaw. . . I used it yesterday in the cold air to cut a limb as my gas saw got bound up. Other reviewer may have gotten a bad one, mine is good.

Works, but not like original. Now will not charge.
Using in Greenworks 20” EV mower. With this new battery, fully charged, the mower will shutdown after a little hard use. But, upon a second or third try, it seems to run fine till user decides to stop it (release handle). So for the difference between the Joiry and the genuine Greenworks battery (at best price available of course) I wish I’d bought the Greenworks. It is a strange issue. Sounds like crappy circuit board(s) to me. If Joiry wants to trade out for a replacement I’ll be glad to adjust my review if indeed the 2nd one works as it should. 10/30/19 UPDATE...Well I can no longer charge this thing. My Greenworks charger come on with two red lights as they should, but within 15 seconds one of the lights starts blinking and the battery does not charge. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!

joiry sucks
Would never ever buy anything joiry again!!!It can "NOT" be recharged! The spring that is suppose to be in the release catch is missing, broke,.....!! There are suppose to be a plastic guide on each side of the electrical-contacts housing, likely to keep the battery from wiggling on the charger or tool. The GREENWORKS mower and blower and charger work terrifically! These are My first battery powered tools using this type of battery, so visual inspection, based on knowing something about them wasn't there. Kept trying to figure out what was different between the joiry and GREENWORKS battery. Don't believe the broke/missing spring in the catch, or missing guides should prevent the battery from charging!Huge $75 dollar mistake, but learned that lesson, don't buy joiry!

Bah!
Nothing like buying something with one review that is a 5-star. This was cheap which was great! Mechanically it fits great. It showed up with and the battery indicator showed they shipped it fully charged. It ran hedge trimmer for about 10 minutes. The charge status dropped to 50%. I swapped it into the small leaf blower and turned it on. The leaf blower instantly shut off. No battery lights. I removed the battery and then checked the status: 50%. Put back into the leaf blower, turned on. Leaf blower again shut off and the lights showed 0% charged. So, a faulty battery? Battery actually has 2A-hrs and not the 5A-hrs advertised with?IDK
