Q: Has anyone had issues with the seal? I feel like mine could be leaking air through the lid or o-ring. I am not seeing bubbles in my airlock.

Yes, it is from the lid not the o-ring. I used plastic wrap rolled it up length wise and put it in the groove of the lid with a dull butter knife it was a little bit tough getting the lid on the bucket but it fixed the problem perfectly my bubbler is bubbling away

Q: will normal bubbler airlock work?

All the ones I've tried with it have worked.

Q: Will this work for dry storage for a kayak?

No it has a whole in the lid. Unless you have a means for plugging it.

Q: I'm looking to make a (cheaper) waterer for my chickens. Do you think this would work for that purpose?

Lowes or Home Depot or other hardware stores sell food grade buckets with lid for $5.
