The Land of Stories Complete Hardcover Gift Set

I bought these books for my children based on the fantastic reviews but ended up returning the series to Amazon for a refund. These books are horrible. They are spectacularly badly written, in an I-can't-believe-this-actually-got-published kind of way. They read like a child's attempt at writing stories. (Not even -- I've got an 8-year old with a better grasp of story than is displayed in these books.) I couldn't even get through the second chapter of the first book, it was that painful to read. It was also annoyingly pedantic. I honestly can't understand how this series is getting the reviews it is getting.If you want good books for kids, check out Trenton Lee Stewart's "Mysterious Benedict Society" or Tui Sutherland's "Wings of Fire" series. Both authors have well-written, engaging stories with interesting plot lines. And they manage to impart wisdom subtly, without obviously lecturing the reader.

Item arrived in great shape, it was delivered on time, and i loved it! the story is amazing, it moves fast, but not too fast, at a perfect rate.It has many plot twists and reveals ,one of the best .The coverwork is beautiful, exactly as described, the actual box the books were in, was also in good condition, it was stiff cardboard and not thin, so it wont get damaged easily.PS. don't flip to the last page of any of the books, because you could possibly ruin the whole story for yourself.
