Useless unless you are a speaker of Chinese... but this should be a map of Japan...
Why one star? Useless unless you are a speaker of Chinese... but this should be a map of Japan... What do I mean? Well, the romanji (Romanized characters) are written for a speaker of Chinese. So, for a westerner that has lived in Japan for 8 years and his Japanese wife, this map is useless. Or if you have little or no Japanese ability this won't help as it does not translate to what you are seeing on signs or hearing from the nationals.See my photo for what I mean. The photo is from my wife's hometown Myoko/Arai. The only part that is understandable to us is the "Myoko" part after that every other word is romanized for Chinese speakers. Bummed! I do not recommend this product unless you can speak Chinese in which case it is perfect for you.

Maps of Japan and Korea - With limited points of interest
The product provided maps of Japan and Korea such that I was able to use in-country. However, there are limited points of interest. I had to use Google maps to identify the locations and then find the equivalent spot in the map to mark it with my GPS device.

Unofficial maps, but they do work
Tried using this map on a nuvi 50LM and an etrex 30x, neither would display the map even with latest firmware updated.(edit) They simply sent me the wrong map. I set my position in GPS demo mode in Cambodia and viola, street detail and points of interest. Looks great, just not the area I need. A simple mix up. With everything updated via Garmin Express it works just fine. (edit) They helped me get the right map loaded and everything works perfectly. Since Garmin itself doesn't sell a street map for Japan for some reason this is your best bet, and for the price its a great deal.
