Johnson Brothers 16-Piece His Majesty Dinner Set, Multicolored

I love these dishes! Have been buying place settings and serving pieces in this pattern for several years, but they're getting harder to find, so I figured it was a good time to complete the set. If you've ever wanted these dishes, get them now while the price is good and they still have some! Not only do they make for a beautiful table at Thanksgiving, but they work for other meals in the fall and up until Christmas. They also look good on display in a restored antique cabinet in my kitchen, so I get to enjoy them year 'round. :-) Love the fact these can go in the dishwasher, too.

I really like the rich colors and the pattern. However one of the mugs came broken and the only way I could get a replacement was to send the whole set back and then reorder. That is just plain ridiculous!

Ordered 3 sets, two arrived damaged

I was shocked when I received the two sets I ordered and saw paper stickers on both the boxes and ONE plate per set stating that the dishes were made in China. Wondering if perhaps I'd ordered knockoff dishes, I turned to the internet for more research. As of 2003, Johnson Brothers is no longer made in England, but in China. It says England on the back/underside of the assorted dishes, but it's missing the "made in" part. Sneaky, sneaky Waterford Wedgewood group... they keep buying up all the old brands, shutting down the heritage factories, and sending the jobs elsewhere. Growing up, we used Johnson Brothers china daily. My mother had several patterns. This is NOT the same quality as the dishes I grew up with. Both sets had multiple dishes with glaze pops and imperfections, one plate is really bad. I have an older, incomplete set of this exact pattern and the dishes don't even come close, the colors and pattern are just blah and dull in comparison to my older dishes. So I guess it's antique shops and online auctions for me if I want to complete my set of good Johnson Brothers His Majesty. The set gets two stars because my husband likes the mugs.

Hemmed and hawed quite a bit before ordering this set. I really wanted a thanksgiving china and loved this pattern, but wished the colors were deep orange and green (you know, thanksgiving/fall colors) instead of berry and teal. But the price dropped and so did my resolve. So glad it did. The dishes are beautiful!!! I was worried about some of the reviews regarding dull colors and imperfections but found a little bump on one dinner plate and one small plate which were hardly noticeable and print was lighter on one or two small plates which I plan to use as dessert plates. I couldn't be happier with these dishes. I bought 2 sets and will go back for a third if the price is right. Bonus: Dishwasher and Microwave safe!!!

Very nice ! One day after I purchased then -they went up ten dollars ! Wanted to get another set but decided not too just for the principle !

I am a bachelor. And I purchased this set - and I have to tell you that you simply can't imagine how expensive these look. They are dishwasher safe - and look like pure china.
