Matisse. Cut-outs

There's a much longer version of this book which I suppose includes a lot of words. I was after images of Matisse's works, and this is a treat.

This is a good compilation of work, good quality book, and a very good price.

Excellent value

This has to be the most sumptuously illustrated art book of its size. There is a brief critical appreciation of Matisse's cut-outs, amounting to about 7 pages of text at the start, then the rest of the publication is devoted to reproductions of the works. The book is literally crammed with illustrations: 68 cut-outs are all shown in full colour (19 of the 20 "Jazz" cut-outs are shown), as well there are images of related drawings and sculpture, plus photographs of Matisse at work, of the cut-outs pinned up in his apartment & studio, and of the Chapel project at Vence.This really is the book to go for if you are on a budget, yet do want a work on Matisse's cut-outs with lots of images. (It has a more lavish, and wider selection of cut-outs than John Elderfield's .)

As a Matisse lover, I adore this beautiful art book. It celebrates Matisse’s second late in life career in which he embarked on creating stunning creations from cut outs !I look at the clever and colorful images in this book over and over and I try to make some of my own !A wonderful purchase !

Bel libro. Breve ma ben fatto. Oltre alla descrizione della produzione artistica di Matisse (in inglese) sono presenti molte belle immagini delle sue opere. Ottima la qualitá della rilegatura e della carta utilizzata per le pagine. Il pacco ricevuto era robusto e i tempi di consegna sono stati brevi.
