Relief from the heat!
I'd been toying with the idea of an AC for a number of years and finally decided to get one, choosing Meaco because this range had topped a couple of best but guides I'd seen.I bought the 10000 BTU model even though it's above and beyond what was required for my room size as it was heavily discounted. It was delivered the day after delivery and I got it set up straight away. It's easy to set up, the window kit is straightforward to install. Once turned on, make sure it's in the right setting, and within a minute or so the air being pumped out is very cold. If I put my hand out of the window and feel the air being blown out of the hose it's very warm.Quite quickly you notice the difference in temperature. It takes about an hour to lower the room by 3-4 degrees Celsius, which doesn't sound like much but you soon notice it once you leave the room.Negatives? It's too loud to sleep next to, but then I fully expected that. Portable ACs are noisy, there's no way around that. It's heavy, so getting it up the stairs was enough of a bugger that I wouldn't be ferrying it up and downstairs willy nilly. The wheels also aren't great on carpets.Overall though, I'd highly recommend.P.s. the WiFi is good too! It's great being slumped on the sofa and being able to set the AC running an hour or so before bed so that the room is cool when you get into bed.

Works really well but very loud
We decided to invest in air con as we work from home and summers are getting hotter and hotter. This unit was in our living room which is quite open plan with the dining room and open stairs. It cooled down the living room, but didn't extend to upstairs or the adjoining kitchen. However, it didn't just cool down the room a little - it actually made it feel cool and very comfortable, even during the highest temperature heatwaves. We even had family visit just to cool down during the heatwaves of the summer. The only problem is that it is very loud, I'd say about 75% of the volume of a hoover, so when you have it running for a long time it's very noisy, and you can't have it on near to you while taking work calls, chatting with guests or watching TV. It's very big and the hose and the window fitting are also very ugly but there are ways around that. It's user friendly and really helped us survive the summer as a family who are very sensitive to heat.

Works a treat
This is excellent very simple to use and very effective brings our main bedroom down from 26 degrees to 19 easily / farm house cottage south facing smallish room it is quite loud even on the sleep function but taking the heat out of the room for a few hours before bed really helps get to sleepIt’s quite heavy but the build quality is really good

The ideal mid-priced portable air con unit
We last bought a portable air conditioning unit 15 yrs ago (not a Meaco), and still consider it to be one of our best ever purchases, but we decided to replace it as modern units are smaller and more efficient. We have not been disappointed! This Meaco MeacoCool Pro is far better than our old unit; it is more powerful and yet smaller, and is a neat, attractive unit to sit in any room. It cools our bedroom very quickly in advance of bedtime.Portable air con units are never quiet, but this one is significantly quieter than our old one, and even with the old one the noise did not disturb our sleep. This new unit has a "sleep mode", which quietens the fan and dims the display - very helpful. The Meaco has all the functionality you would expect - it has a timer to set it for when to turn on or turn off ( we usually set it to turn off 2hrs after we go to bed), a remote control and better yet, it can be controlled via your phone using the Meaco app, which was a doddle to set up.The two alternative window seals provided are the ideal solution to stop warm air coming back in through an open window and so make the unit more efficient and cheaper to run. I used the flexible one because we have a hinged window, and it was very quick and easy to fit and forms a great seal. The length of the power cable and exhaust tube are perfect, and the lightness of the exhaust tube makes it much easier to manipulate into place the the thicker, more rigid on in my old unit.I was impressed to see that the Meaco comes with spare bungs, and a drainage tube - a feature lacking on my old unit that is a great addition. I also like that the Meaco warns you via the screen that it is time to drain. My old unit just stopped working and beeped all night once it was full.In terms of portability, it is very easy to move from room to room because it has smooth castors, even over thick carpet, but the unit is heavy so moving it up or down stairs is a bit of a chore. Having said that, I'm 69 and I took it upstairs without drama using the hand-hold recesses on either side of the unit.In summary, the Meaco MeacoCool Pro is attractive, efficient, relatively quiet, reasonably portable, has great functionality and is relatively cheap to run.I definitely recommend it.

Godsend during the few hot days we had
+) cooled room down adequately in a reasonable time +) easy setup and connecting to WiFi +) quite sleep mode +) can use app on phone or remote control +) timer-) heavy to lift -) noisy but understandable -) app on mobile few days later updated with new version which got rid of of functoanolity to see what current room temperatureDidn't use window covers. Just popped outlet tube out the window.TIP- noise doubles up as white noise if that helps you sleep
