Birds of Central Florida: A Guide to Common & Notable Species (Quick Reference Guides)

I received a pamphlet of central Florida birds. The pictures are more like drawings. They are not in color. Some, like the woodpecker and the cardinal are shown in red. but we all can recognize cardinals and woodpeckers. It's the other colorful Central Florida birds we can't recognize. Their beautiful colored feathers are not shown. I don't get close enough to a bird to see it's shape. but I can see it's colorful feathers. This pamphlet says it provides easy identification of birds but it is of no help at all.

I think this is perfect for kids or folks just interested in identifying their backyard or local park birds. I wish there were more of the seasonal birds listed. It’s very simple and easy to read. I do like that it’s laminated and opens up flat (trifold).

I ordered it not knowing what to expect, but I wanted something light and easy to use while out hiking or watching the birds that come to my backyard feeder. This little laminated reference guide is great. I love it! Easy to use, is laminated, folds up, fits into the backpack... it's great! And if you live in Central Florida, as I do, these are the birds you are going to typically see. What's not to love?

We bought this guide hoping it would help us identify the many birds we encounter on our Central Florida farm. It does that very well! In addition to being well organized, clear and concise, this reference guide is weatherproof. Very helpful in identifying the birds in Florida. I'm a birder and have traveled. We just returned from the Bahamas. I took photos and before entering the sights I saw, this helped me make sure I was correct. Like birders, I keep logs of birds seen where and when.

Ordered this for my grandson who loves using his binoculars. It is laminated so if it gets dropped in the mud or the lake it will survive.
