The lightest travel tripod out there
The media could not be loaded. I removed the ball head that comes with the tripod and replaced it with the Ulanzi U-80L ball head. This combination is the lightest tripod set up I have come across and here are the specifications of the combination:Weight: 1 lbs, 8.5 oz (696 grams)Folded length: 16 inches (40.6 cm)Folded diameter: 2.5 inches (6.4 cm)Full extended height: 58.5 inches (148.6 cm)The set up easily fits in the side of a backpack where a water bottle would go. It takes up minimal space in a travel suitcase. It is sturdy holding a Sony a7iv mirrorless DSLR camera with a 24-105 f4 lens. I am very pleased with this product.

Amazing design and qulity built.
The legs mechanism to extend and retract is smooth, fast and when extended stiff and legs will not collapse. The head is extremelly versatile and when locked will not move; will take some practice to master because of the many levels and their small size. And the mounting plate becomes an iPhone holder. The storage bag is well design too. It comes with several Allen wrenches and that is the only minus; wish all the adjusting screw would all had been the same size.

Very good head. Good overall
I’ll be honest I was about to return this item. Did not like the legs but the head is awesome and it’s super light and small. Perfect for what I need it for.The leg problem was somewhat helped by adding graphite powder in joints. Still not perfect but all in all I decided to keep it and am happy w it

Simply excellent!
I was so happy to receive this great tripod and it has been traveling around with me a lot. I love how the legs can unlock and extend with a simple twist of the foot. It also has a very smooth action on the ballhead to film nice smooth pans. It is tall enough to shoot phone videos, in fact, the mounting plate doubles as a phone mount. It's super light. I am very happy with this tripod.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As an avid traveler and photographer, I've been through my fair share of tripods, but the Freewell Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod has truly impressed me. This tripod is my go-to companion for every adventure, and it's easy to see why.Lightweight and Portable: A Traveler’s DreamFirst and foremost, the lightweight design of this tripod is a game-changer. It folds down to just under 17 inches and weighs less than 2 pounds, making it incredibly easy to pack in my camera bag. Whether I'm hiking through the mountains or exploring a bustling city, I hardly notice it’s there until I need it. The ultra-compact design means I can effortlessly carry it everywhere, allowing me to focus on capturing stunning shots without being weighed down.Smooth Setup and Intuitive OperationThe setup process is impressively quick and smooth. After using several tripods over the years, I found the Freewell tripod to be extremely intuitive. The leg flip locking system allows me to extend it from just over 6.3 inches to a maximum height of nearly 59 inches, providing versatility for different shooting angles. The bubble levels and quick-release plate ensure that I can achieve the perfect shot without fumbling around with complicated adjustments.Durability Meets VersatilityConstructed from durable carbon fiber, this tripod supports a hefty 11 pounds, which is more than enough for my camera and additional gear. I've used it in various environments—from sandy beaches to rocky terrains—and the non-slip feet provide solid stability no matter where I am. I appreciate the reversible center column feature for low-angle shots, which opens up a new world of creative possibilities.Innovative Features for Every PhotographerWhat sets this tripod apart are its innovative features. The inclusion of three 1/4"-20 expansion threaded holes is a fantastic touch, allowing me to attach additional gear such as lights or microphones. Plus, the Air Tag compartment is a brilliant idea for those of us who are always on the go and want to keep track of our equipment.Monopod Conversion: Perfect for Tight SpacesThe monopod conversion feature is another standout aspect. In crowded places or tricky terrains where setting up a traditional tripod is challenging, I can easily unscrew one of the legs and transform it into a monopod. This dual functionality is invaluable for those spontaneous moments when you need to be mobile yet still want to capture high-quality images.ConclusionIn conclusion, the Freewell Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod has exceeded my expectations in every way. Its combination of portability, durability, and innovative features makes it an essential tool for any photographer, whether a seasoned pro or a weekend warrior. If you're looking for a travel tripod that delivers on performance without compromising on weight, look no further. This tripod is worth every penny, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

best portable tripod I've used yet
I have never been a big fan of the travel tripods...because their attempts to lower the weight have always managed to make them less somehow. Finally, there is one that doesn't. To this point my favorite mini was more of a desktop as it didn't have any height to it...but it was really really well made and I trust it. But I could only get low from the ground shots, and it was starting to get a bit repetitive to watch. So...when I saw this one...all metal and carbon fiber...I thought we might have a real shot here.Now...I opened the box to find no owners manual of any kind, but a nice bag, a tripod, and a weird little attachment that I have absolutely no idea what it is for because there is no owners manual. So I don't really know if there just isn't one, and that's questionable at best at this price point, or if this was a return and the first customer forgot to put it back in...or what really. I just know that at this price...you better tell my why the pieces in there are in there, and give me something that tells me my money was well spent and guaranteed in some way. I have nothing here, and it doesn't give me confidence. That being said...using it, so far, has been pretty much a dream. I use a big video rig in my studio, so it took me a little bit to get used to the tiny video arm and action, but once you do, this is a really smooth little 360 head, and I really really appreciate having that stability and fluid movement on such a small tripod. The mechanism to extend the legs, first time I have seen this design, is admittedly super fast...a plus for capturing wildlife moments that move on quickly. But...it doesn't feel all that solid. Again, wish I had some kind of owners manual that reassured me that this expensive piece of equipment, far more expensive than any other I've tried in this space, is guaranteed in some way for some length of time...cuz I just don't trust that mechanism to last. But the rest of it is very well made, very light and transportable, and very very rugged given what it is. I expect this one to last longer than any other outdoor travel tripod I've tried...it has better fit and finish and that tends to speak to the overall quality of production. In the end, I've put my action camera rig on here to use filming life from the perspective of our adventure dog...and it is working so very well.
