i got this because i wanted to fully utilize echo/alexa. i had to use my ipad to set it up. i could not find ways to work with alexa through my PC or laptop. its easy once you get down the instructions. you have to download the company's app for the plug on an ipad or something similar. then you open an account with the company's website. you use the app to set up multiple plugs, you name each plug, such as 'front light.' so, after you you bridge that to alexa, you would always say "alexa turn on front light.". i have found that if names are too similar it will require more talking to alexa which does not streamline your house most efficiently.after i bridged with alexa, she easily assimilated new plugs on her own. when i got these, one plug was a little damaged, but this didnt ruin its functionality at all. after set up, you never have to deal with the plug again unless you move it. when i have done that, it requires no additional work unless you rename it for another light or fan..the plug is a little big, but you can get another simple cord into the same outlet. you could not use 2 of these in one outlet. there are other plugs designed for that. i also realize that a plug i bought from a different company is being conveniently managed through this companies app. perhaps some brands may are interchangable. i would get only these plugs now, because ive had a good experience. its also smarter to stay with one brand so you dont have multiple company apps to deal with.

This item works very well as advertised. Easy to set up (follow instructions in the pamphlet that is supplied), only takes a couple minutes once the eFamilyCloud app is downloaded. I had to RESET (reset button is the light) the device on both of them by first powering ON then waiting ten seconds and then power OFF and power ON again by holding the reset button (the light) for five seconds until the indicator light starts blinking rapidly. This is my second device from this company. After you setup your device in eFamilyCloud then go to Amazon Alexa app, click on Smart Home and it should show up there. I love the way you can set any schedule for ON and OFF that you like 24/7 on and off as many times a day that you like. Schedules are set up in the eFamilyCloud any time you would like to make changes.

Plug worked perfectly once I had it setup. The unit is a little large, but I am still able to use the other plug without issue.NOTE: You need a android or apple device to set this up... didn't see option for a windows phone, and you need to register with eFamilyCloud to use product. Since this is my FIRST home automation product, I don't know if that is normal.With no knowledge it took me about 10 minutes to setup, control is very responsive from phone or alexa, I am happy with purchase

Terrible product both of mine have stopped working already. I purchase some less than 4 months ago. I had one go out last week and the other one went out today. Not sure why they did that but there's something really wrong with the way they're made. It doesn't appear that I have the option of returning defective products I can't find a location anywhere to ask for a refund. As I stated above I actually bought them around August 10th and they both went out within a week of each other. Very inferior product

Set up was easy enough. Downloaded the app and followed the instructions and had it working in short period of time. Tested it out a few times with the timer and it worked great. Just remember that there is a 30 second plus or minus to when the plug turns on or off. Otherwise it appears to be a good bargain, only time will tell.

So far this product is working as expected. I really enjoy the possibility to monitor the family room lamps while home and not home. It was a bit cumbersome to set up the app. As savvy tech guy I manage but I am afraid that can scare away other people not familiar with technology.I'll update my review in case any issue occur.

The device is quite big, but for that price you cant have any smaller. It worked fine for the first couple of weeks (with Alexa and IFTTT), then it stopped to turn itself off. It can still connect to internet, but the "on/OFF" feature is dead; even pressing the manual button on the device you cannot "unplug" it

For 6.99 I thought I would take a chance and buy this smart plug. Downloaded the app on Google Play and it saw the plug within 5 seconds. I was pretty impressed for such a cheap device, it worked perfect. I plan to buy more.
