Does what is should do but as you can see this BLUE bed guard is very much not blue! Its incredibly pink! If we didn't need it up straight away I'd have returned it.

WARNING: Not suitable for wooden frame beds! Or it would seem, even it's target market!
After much shopping about looking for a decent bed rail for a two year old who’s taken to sliding out of his bed and kipping on the floor till he gets cold, I settled on this one basically because unlike others on the market, this one had straps and attachments for securing to the opposite end of the bed. Instructions are pretty poor, but with a magnifying glass and some common sense, you can pretty much get it together. So far so great. However, having received it, built it, and placed it into the frame of the bed, there's a very apparent and totally undisclosed problem - the folding mechanism is completely incompatible with a wooden frame bed.The design is so basic that it situates the two folding joints at exactly ninety degrees to the bars that extend under the mattress. As such, there is no accounting for any kind of “lip” that surrounds the mattress in a wooden framed bed. Consequently, when the rail is put in place, it can’t fold back because the joints (being level with the BOTTOM of the mattress) are penned in between the bottom of the frame lip and the side of the mattress. Other rails, have their folding joints part way up the gate frame, which means you can stick the frame in place, and it clears the bed frame lip to fold unobstructed. There’s nothing ostensibly wrong with the gate itself but it’s only going to be compatible with a Devan style bed, or a similar type of bed where your base and your mattress just sit flush on top of each other and even then, quite how effective the security straps will be when a mattress can just slide off, is another matter entirely. All I know is, that it would have been really helpful to have had these compatibility issues stated somewhere on the product info. It’s only on the actual BOX where BabyCo hint at it in a statement that reads (“NOT SUITABLE FOR TODDLER BEDS”). That’s right, you read that correctly- it’s a BABYCO "sweet dreams" bed rail that’s completely incompatible with baby and toddler beds. There even appears to be some confusion on the box itself which states “suitable for children over 18 months and over 5 years” with the “over 5 years”, scribbled out and a printed “under 5 years” sticker slapped on top. So who is it actually designed for? Who is it safe for? What beds does it actually work with? A 4 year old sleeping in a King Size double? Your guess is as good as mine, and clearly BabyCo are as royally confused about the whole thing as anybody! Avoid!
