Pectin
I needed fruit pectin to do my preserves and jellies. I do not like spending all that money for the little bit of sure jell you get at the store. I looked on Amazon and found this product. I like that it comes in its own canister and is a large amount for the cost. I will not need to purchase anymore this year. Try this product if you are making a lot of jelly or jam.

Great pectin for freezer jam
We used this for freezer jam and it works great! You can't go by the recipe on the side tho that is cook jam. You must reconstitute this pectin in 3/4 cups water for 1.75 oz worth of pectin. I used amounts from surejel packs and another recipe along with a tsp of lemon juice or maybe a tbsp for a batch.. Just look up reconstituting pectin.. This type actually worked much better than some other I had bought. You can't just dump the powder in freezer jam and have it work. I seen some people saying they tried it and it didn't set.

All is well
All is well. I am enjoying using this pectin. I had to guess how much to use, but since the other packaged pectins are 49gr, I decided to use 1/4 Cup. Thanks.

recipe too small
On many reviews people said that they had a hard time reading the recipe for making the jam. I could not read it either. So I got a magnifying glass and typed it up. I hope this helps. Below is the recipe:Medley Hills Farm Fruit Pectin Powder---Recipe for Jam or Jelly3 ¾ C Fruit5 ¼ C Sugar3 Tbs. Fruit PectinMeasure amount of prepared fruit specified in recipe ingredient listing, pack solidly in measuring cup, if measure is slightly short, add water. Place fruit in 6 to 8 quart sauce pan. Measure sugar and set aside. Stir in fruit pectin mix into prepared fruit. Sauce pan must be no more than half full to allow for full rolling boil. Bring to a full boil over high heat stirring constantly. At once stir in sugar. Stir and bring to a full rolling boil. A boil that cannot be stirred down. Maintain full boil for one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Skim off foam with a metal spoon. Immediately ladle into jars leaving a ¼ inch space at the top. With a damp cloth, wipe jars and threads clean. Immediately cover jars with lids. Screw bands on firmly. Process

Bad batch of pectin
What an unexpected calamity yourpectin put forth for me !!!The amount of pectin in all otherbatches was minimal to get the appropriate viscosity. The batch previous to this took an entire container to get the right consistancy. This time I poured the entire container, just like last time and it turned out like a solid block of concrete.NOW... it took alot of time andmaterials to get it to the rightconsistancy.I have made and sold many varieties of Jams as Jam Man for12 years and this has never happened. A check for $25.00would be beneficial for redeemingmy expenses, unless you creditmy Amazon account.Brian O'NeilAmazon account Pamela O'Neil
