WORKS PERFECTLY! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I ordered this portable mini speaker from YooMee in order to be able to listen to mp3's I had recorded. I am almost 70 and a little hard of hearing and the volume just from the iphone 5 touch and/or my iphone 4 was just not sufficient, so I was excited when I got this little speaker. I charged the speaker all night and then plugged it in expectantly. Unfortunately, though the volume went down when it was plugged in to the speaker! I was ready to return it to Amazon as a defective product, but then I got an email from the YooMee customer support team asking me how it was working for me. I told them about my problem and said that unless they wrote back with a solution for me right away I would be returning it. Well, lo and behold in just a matter of hours the very nice support rep emailed me back. He asked me very politely if I had turned the volume up on the apple device AFTER connecting the speaker. At first I didn't understand, so the agent wrote me back again and clarified what he said for me. It worked! I had turned the volume on the apple devices up all the way BEFORE connecting the speaker, but I had no idea that the volume might go down again after connecting the speaker. There may have been such a direction in the instructions. If there was, I didn't see it, but whatever, it works perfectly now and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Still not sure
I wanted really bad to give this a good rating, but I'm not sure I can. I do like the sound, though I wish the device itself had its own volume/other controls. The cord could be longer, but that's not a big issue either. As other reviewers stated, it does appear to stop charging once you've played and charged simultaneously. I charged it full (light went from red to blue, i guess that means fully charged), listened at work (blue light, unplugged, because the reviews had me extra cautious), then finally plugged it in one day while it was playing and the blue light started to flicker a little purple. (Also, when did it become too much to ask for a piece of paper with instructions or explanations? wow...)When I got home, i plugged it into the computer, and of course, no red light. I left it plugged in anyway, hoping it might charge anyway. 36 or so hours later, I unplugged it and tried it out. It seemed to still be working fine, aside from me never seeing that red light ever again. I took it in the shower, and it played fine unplugged (about 20 minutes). But then when I took it to work, it suddenly cut out after just 10 or 15 seconds. As of right now, it works when it's plugged in; unplugged is anyone's gamble. It started making a slight clicking/blipping noise after that second long charge, and has recently started a hissing/feedback noise as well. Both are only noticeable when the volume is low, so it's not horrible. But I'm hesitant on buying even an upgrade from this brand. Seems like you get a brand new issue every time you charge it up. Too bad, because it really is cute, and I do still use it.

Amazing Sound From Such A Tiny Speaker
Amazing sound (it fills the room and can still be heard from the next room), and the fact that you can continue to listen while charging is great! It's a LOT smaller than expected, but that's a plus. It's also, very light weight and it looks cool (but the speaker cone area doesn't light up -- which would have made it even cooler!) It has a 3mm LED on the bottom that indicates:- Blue: Power On- Red: Charging while power off- Violet: Charging while power on (actually the color is a quasi mixture of blue and red)The USB connector and the mini audio plug are on the same cable and some might find that cumbersome. Also, the cable is rather thin -- i.e. feels flimsy [time will tell].Don't expect a lot of bass from this speaker, it rolls off at around 180 Hz (but it doesn't sound "tinny" either). The power switch is a little "cheap feeling" -- it's stiff and sometimes sticks (i.e. you have to change the angle of pressure applied to get it to slide--but it does, eventually, slide).

Great little speaker!!
I bought this speaker to be able to listen to my iPhone in my car (and elsewhere). I had previously bought iHome portable speakers, but they stopped working (sound would start and stop and be very irritating). This speaker is really wonderful. The price is great, the size is tiny, and the sound is fantastic - SO loud for such a little device!! I am really happy with it. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the wires - it has a really long wire from the speaker to the USB, which is nice because I can place the speaker on the arm rest in the car and the sound is centralized. However, the other wire from the USB to the phone jack is really short - so my phone has to be close to the charger. This means that when everything is plugged in, my son, who sits in the back seat, can't reach the phone to change songs... - this is problematic as he is usually the one in charge of music. Two equally long wires would have been WAY better!!! But great device. Totally worth the price!!!
