Bought this to replace my ageing single band adapter and, at first, I was very pleased - it worked instantly when plugged in, was very fast and had pretty blue flashing LEDs. However, it lasted only four weeks - one morning when I booted up my PC it was completely dead, no lights, nothing so now I am looking for a probably more expensive and hopefully longer lasting replacement.Luckily, I didn't spend too long looking for a replacement, instead I did a little digging. I am running the latest version of Linux Mint and it seems that there was a Linux kernel update overnight and the driver was not compatible and was removed. I installed another driver specific to this adapter's chipset (RTL88x2b) and instantly all was well, the LEDs were flashing and my connection was back up to speed.So, yes, this is a great value wi-fi adapter that performs well, just be prepared to do a little work if you want it to run on Linux.

Having just switched to an FTTP connection that is much faster than my old ADSL2 connection, I wanted to be able to use it from a PC located in another room without having to run an ethernet cable.This device provides access to the full bandwidth allowing me to benefit from all the speed of my new connection with no downsides. Additional latency (over a wired ethernet connection) appears to be around 2mS which I consider pretty good.For the money, it's a solid recommendation. I will still install an ethernet cable at some point, but this has allowed me to push that particular job "down the queue".

Good functionality and reasonable quality for the price.Was plug and play on Linux with a recent kernel. The reviews from people saying it doesn’t are probably from newbies that don’t realise drivers live in the kernel and really old kernels won’t have drivers for modern devices.Upgrading from a wireless N stick without antennas and there was a huge improvement in signal. 4 stars because it stopped working once and I had to pull it out and in.

Missus was constantly moaning about her wifi signal fading in and out, so thought I'd give this a go. Read the description about using the mini disc or the website to get the drivers, so was ready. But, hey presto, Windows10 recognised the thumb drive and it worked instantly with a great signal. No more moaning - happy wife, happy life, lol.

After 4 months the item has ceased to function. The WiFi signal into the house is 100% as is the adapter, but it now drops the signal after a couple of minutes

The actual usb works great. The manual explains everything IF you're using the disk to install the driver. If like me you don't have a place to insert a disk, install the driver from the link in the product description and EXTRACT THE FILES, it wouldn't work for me otherwise.Apart from the extraction of the folder, the manual that comes with the product is easy to follow and works great.

Was a bit worried at first as it came with a CD driver and my pc does not have a CD drive. Needn't have worried, just plugged it in to USB and instantly got strong Wi-Fi signal. Great product and brilliant value as the cheapest product of it's type I could find.

Works fine-good signal pickup, great for the price. Since installing though have had odd issues with my PC, a Yahoo redirect tracker malware appeared shortly after (I have Google as default) and have had issues logging in to some sites I had no problem with before- might be coincidence but have used a full anti-virus scan twice to get rid of the redirect nonsense, still some strangeness persists...hence 3 not 5 stars. Wonder if anyone has had this problem?
