and super nova. It definitely isn't dim
One of the main reasons I picked this clock is that it has dimming capability; however, it only provides three levels: day, look at the sun, and super nova. It definitely isn't dim. Even at the lowest setting it shines so bright in my face that it wakes me up. This clock has nice features, and has the potential to be a really good clock. I would gladly pay more for to have a slider bar to go from black display to bright display. The controls for the alarm are a bit convoluted as well, but I can get used to that. I can't get used to the brightness of this thing. I ended up buying some super dark window tint and taping it to the front, and even then, I had to use four layers of it to get it to a point that I find it usable.

Worth every penny
This thing last for a while. I jammed two days before I had to charge. Came in new and wrapped. Feels light and the quality is great. Everything works when tested nothing went wrong. It's a really good alarm clock and sounds system in it is good for a alarm clock but I just wished it had radio though. But man this last longer than most speakers my friends have.Update: I bought this 11/2017 and it’s now 08/2018. I’m surprised that I paid $39 and now it’s $29! Well it still works well and I never had any issues. I read some of the reviews and I think some people are over reacting. Once you read the manual for the alarm it should be fairly simple to use. The alarm is super loud and it’s enough to wake up rooms around me. It goes up to four levels of loudness and if you can’t wake up to that you might have to go check with your doctor for a hearing aid. I will have charge it once a week without using Bluetooth. I can use it for 2-3 hours a day and will have to charge it like every 2-3 day’s. So it’s about 6 hour usage before recharging. Hope this helps but like always buy it, try it and if you don’t like it return it.

EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED
WOW! absolutely love this alarm/Bluetooth clock I use it for both my room and office, good size and very strong built...comes with a AUX cable but its also Bluetooth which is one of its best features you can literally take it anywhere and listen to music..no batteries so you don't have to worry about buying batteries all the time, it charges with a USB cord like a cell phone (USB cord comes with it)...the mirror screen is awesome for girls to do their make up on or just to look at yourself, another good thing about is you can answer calls and talk when its connect via Bluetooth, the sound is great quality and it would definitely wake you up when you use it as an alarm clock. I recommend this clock to anyone that likes versatile/ 2-in-1 products.

The perfect bedside companion
I ordered the Bedside Bluetooth Alarm Clock Speaker to get a good quality speaker for my Echo Dot to play music on my nightstand next to my bed. When I saw that it could also function as an alarm clock I realized that this could be the perfect bedside companion. The speaker has dual 8w drivers and sounds really great. I have several Bluetooth speakers and this is one of the best that I have tried. My Echo Dot has an aux output so I am using the line-in input for the clock instead of having to pair with Bluetooth. It also has a long eight hour battery life but I leave it plugged into a USB charge port so I don’t have to worry about recharging. However, if you want to take it to other rooms or to the beach or camping it is great having the built-in battery. The best thing about the battery is it lasts 24 hours on standby so it should ride out any power outages without me having to reset the alarm clock. I am using it to replace my old alarm clock, which I had to reset after every power blip, and would often miss an alarm when the power failed during the night. The clock function has very large digits that I can see from anywhere in my bedroom without my glasses. It also as an SD card slot so you can play mp3 files and a microphone so you can connect with Bluetooth to your cell phone and use it as a speakerphone.

More a Bluetooth speaker with a clock and alarm function
I bought this speaker because I'm tired of waking up to commercials on the radio and this one supports CF (TF) cards.Yes, the sound is good and the clock looks nice with the mirrored display, but......I'm still struggling to understand the reason behind the botched alarm function. The "lowest" possible sound level for the mp3 alarm makes you stand straight up in the morning. It may get you out of bed because you just want to turn off the blaring sound, but personally I need something more soothing in the morning. There is also no snooze button, so you have to press the "M" key twice (good luck finding the correct small button while still half asleep. The alarm is really a mystery to me....the speaker plays the mp3 around a minute and then stops, but starts playing it again (this time the whole song) after a few minutes of silence. The speaker also always plays the last song from the beginning, so if you like me jump out of bed to put an end to the noise level in the morning you are greeted with the same song every morning. The button menus are not very intuitive either - e.g. turning off the alarm for the weekend requires you to press and hold a button, go through the whole menu for setting the alarm and then turn it off. The dimming level for the display is also not really dim, so it creates a good ambient light during the night (no auto dimming either). Like initially said, I think this was more designed to be a BT speaker and the clock and alarm function was added as a gimmick. It seems to have been designed to run on the internal rechargeable battery rather than being plugged into an outlet (very short usb cable). I will keep the speaker as the sound is OK, but look at it as an overpriced BT speaker because it's worthless to me as an alarm clock.
