7 FOOT GARAGE DOOR FLOOR THRESHOLD WEATHER SEAL DRAUGHT EXCLUDER

I purchased this door seal as I had a 4 mm gap at the bottom of my garage door, on receiving the rubber I rolled it out flat for 24 hours to aid fitting the next day. I thought that this would be straight forward, but when closing the door the bottom of the door was snagging on the exterior lip of the rubber, this was without sealant applied which was fortunate.I read that the lip was 3 mm thick and expected it to not be a problem when ordering. I had to cold chisel the area to reduce the garage floor level before applying the sealant, obviously testing first for clearance.Once confirmed clear with a 5 - 6 mm gap I followed the fitting instructions to the letter and achieved an excellent result.The rubber is nice and easy to cut and fit and has a relaxed feel when delivered, once fitted with the supplied sealant the end result is as strong as an ox. The sealant supplied is superb and easy to work with and cures fairly quickly, after 24 hours the rubber was fixed solid to the floor, but I did experience a touch of slip at one end of the door by the frame, about 1 mm slip forward, noticed by the slight daylight seen at the bottom of the door and the marked line on the inside of the door. Currently this does make the door difficult to latch at the top, but I will carefully trim back the front of the rubber carefully on the edge to fine fit, too enable the latch to locate, then it will be a perfect fit.

I have now bought three of these (original one for myself and two for relatives who were impressed by mine). the product is excellent and the adhesive works fine and there is plenty of it to complete the job easily. The first two I purchased were both 88 inches long so I purchased another expecting the same length. Unfortunately the latest one is only 85 inches long and is therefore a little short of what I required. I know it is over the 7 foot specified so I did take a chance based on my previous two purchases and replies to questions on the Amazon site so I cannot complain really. My advice to anyone purchasing to cover a 7ft 2inch gap is to buy the 8 foot version to be on the safe side.

I thought I had about 5-mil clearance under my garage door but I really struggled to get this under it! In the end I cut the thin part off and just glued the thicker strip behind the door. Glue is serious stuff.

Bought this after reading reviews and looking at cheaper alternatives. Excellent product. Our garage door had a gap at the bottom and the rain came into the garage up to 1 metre. Watched you tube clip on fitting - which was very helpful. Had to cut the strip as we had a wooden post in the middle of our wooden doors. Easy to cut with a Stanley knife. Glue provided really strong. We’ve had lots of heavy rain since and garage dry- should have done it years ago. Would highly recommend .

Happy with this purchase keeps out drafts and debris normally blown in. Easy to fit recommend leaving it flat over night before you install following day. Cut and glue down, great product does the job wish I had installed one sooner as seems to keep garage little bit warmer / no drafts and cleaner no leaves rubbish getting into garage,

Yet to experience a strong wind to see how well it keeps out the leaves but I am confident it will do a good job. It was easy to fix. I made a mistake and ordered a strip which was too short. The suppliers were very helpful and sent me a free extra metre of strip which has worked very well. The butt join is hardly noticeable.

Delivered promptly within 2 days! this rubber door rain/ leaf sealer is excellent. You even get the sealant for fitting to the floor. I would recommend this product to all.You will need to find the fitting instructions on their site as none are supplied with the product, this was no problem.The instructions are easy to follow, but make sure you follow them carefully.I found that cutting for the door frame needed to also cut into the thicker part of the rubber seal, allowing the seal to fit up to the door. The rubber strip comes complete with more that enough sealant, no worry about running out.All in all a very good product

As easy to install as stated, did let the roll rest flat for a day or too, but this was not intentional, but would be advised,though the rubber is heavy enough to lie flat on its own. Adhesive is good and was set after a few hours. I have a sloping floor, which is why I chose this product and it solved a tricky problem without having to dig out the floor. Stopped all draughts and leaves well pleased would recommend
