Acctrend Aluminum Badge Holder with Neck Lanyard, Silver (1PACK)

Nice looking and sturdy-seeming badge holder, but wish I would have more carefully read the reviews--the RFID-ish thing does not work on my badge with the holder on and I need to remove the ID to badge into parking, access my floor via elevator, etc.

The item is as described and provides several clear plastic screens to protect your ID. The plastic screens have a clear film that need to be removed. I gave the item 3 stars because 1) the black lanyard is not very long and 2) the aluminum frame, though sturdy, blocks my ID card reader/magnet (not swip strip) from working. I am unable to use my bagde while in the holder.

I have ordered 2 of these badge holders. I really enjoy the badge holder, it is very durable (depending on how you handle it - more on that in a moment), and fashionable. The plastic badge protectors that you insert around your badge are nice, just know that there are cellophane sheets on both side of the protectors to keep them from being scratched during shipment... you will want to remove those. The reason I had to buy 2 is because the first one was working fine until my badge reel completely malfunctioned, so I had to carry it in my pocket for a couple of days. The metal at the top got bent - the holder was still good and functional, and I could have attached it to the new badge reel with no problem. I just wanted a new one to be in pristine condition.

I ordered 3 of these for the 3 rfID cards I have to carry for work ID and access to secure data centers. They were exactly what I was looking for. I've been using them for 2 weeks now and they show no scratches, even though I wear 2 together on the same lanyard.I did intend to wear all 3 at once, but the lanyard clip I use is too small for 3 (2 are fine) and it makes one of them stick out a bit. The holders are about 3mm thick, so 2 both look ok and hang nicely. They don't rattle against each other when I walk either. It's certainly much nicer than the bulky plastic protector I was issued originally.Also, I did try to put 2 cards in one holder. It may fit, but was tight enough I gave up. If you don't mind going without the clear plastic protectors, 2 would probably fit into a single holder. Keeping in mind many rfID readers really don't like having multiple cards near each other.Edit: Just today I noticed the clear plastic bubbling. Turns out there is a protective cover on the plastic part. It was so invisible until now I never noticed. Removed it and looks like new.

I purchased this to hold a work ID that is both scanned and swiped. I do have to remove the ID to swipe it, but it works okay for that. I have no trouble scanning the barcode on the back either.The lanyard is total garbage though. I discarded it after it broke almost immediately and replaced it with another one. The ID holder itself is very solid and doesn't bend or shift. The only issue I have with it is that the paint on the black model I order chips away if you frequently need to remove the ID from the holder. Other than that, this is a good buy.

I'm a heavy-set guy and since I wear my ID on my belt loops, it it easy for the ID to get caught between my stomach and things and bend or crack. Our IDs at work are a bit sensitive so a small crack can break the RFID signal in it. After breaking my last one, I got one of these and just took the lanyard part off. It's held up well and doesn't affect the signal to unlock doors at all, so overall I'm pleased.

I gave it 2 stars because the black strap with white trim looks elegant and fits with almost any outfit. The main reason I didn't like it was because if you have an id card which you need to use to log into computers with, you have to unhook the badge in order to remove the id card which is quite irritating. The other annoying this is the metal hook, I replaced the badge part with a regular plastic badge holder so I could easily remove my id... but the metal hook easily snags on any badge holder, and broke two of them. I am not just using a normal keychain lanyard with a metal ring and it works way better than any of these more expensive hook design id lanyards. Plus you have way more options because more people get these types of thigns for keychains than badges.

I've used this for 4 months and it both looks and works good.It is important to note that while this can hold two cards, it will only work with one proximity type card. If both cards are proximity type cards, the reader will get confused and not work.Also, due to the solid design of the badge holder, I would not use this for mag strip badges that have to be slid in a scanner - it's just to tedious to be inserting and removing the badges in the holder on any sort of regular basis.

Product is good but it decreases your magnetic sensitivity of your card.
