compact but works well
This allows you to grow a lot of seedlings in a small space using very little compost. I plant different seeds in it with no issues. You just have to be ready to transplant the earlier germinating seeds. The lid fits tightly, if fitted correctly. n the photos I have sweetcorn, French beans, swedes, lettuce, coriander and Flox flower seeds. They are all growing happily together. The larger seedlings I will transplant first. I will refill the empty spaces with compost and plant something else. There is no reason this cannot be full of seedlings for the whole of the growing season.I would recommend this product.

Effective with a bit of know-how
I’m torn how to review this; I believe this is good product but only if used in an optimum way, of which I am still learning... here is my experience:The product is well made from a sturdy plastic, not the flimsy stuff typically used in seed trays. It’s made from three sections: a reservoir base, a 49 plug tray and a transparent lid. It’s straight forward to load with soil and easy to fill and top up with water.I decided to use 7 different varieties of seed to test it out (this was my first mistake). Here’s what I’ve learned, perhaps you can use these as tips:- if you are trying to germinate seeds it’s probably best to use one variety, or varieties that have similar germination times. I found, with the lid on, my early germinators were damping off before the other seeds were germinating.- as soon as you have good germination remove the lid to encourage air flow and to avoid damping off.- use a good draining soil mix, I found the constant water feeding from the reservoir made the soil really damp, probably too damp... after a few months the soil started building up moss and other green invasives - that’s with using a sterile seedling mix too. I also had a lot of soil mites, I’m assuming they liked the dampness.- make sure you fill the plugs to the very bottom to ensure the soil is in contact with the reservoir waterThe first batch of seeds were mainly unsuccessful, I salvaged about a dozen seedlings today and transplanted them into a cheap seed tray. I would have liked to have kept them in the plugs but it was looking a bit of a mess. All in all I would say this is a good product if you use it for suitable plants; damp loving plants would love this, dryer condition lovers not so much... I think in future I will germinate my seeds in separate pots and transplant into the plug tray when ready...

I didn't get along well with this
It looked like a great idea and it's well made, but I had little success with this. The plugs are very small.

Healthy plugplants from seed the supereasy way
Easy to use compact seed tray for producing healthy plug plants. It fits nicely on the windowsil. The cover keeps them snug initially, and they can be left for a week without any worries. Once large enough the cover can be removed. Watering from below is easy and mess free. The seedlings/plugs come out cleanly and transplant well. The plug tray can then be cleaned ready for the next use, month after month, year after year. 49 plants fit into each tray, by far the most compact and easy to use and durable I have seen over the last 30 years.

Worth the cost
These are great plant trainers. I bought my first two about 10 years ago and now have a dozen of them in order to grown from seed everything we need for our allotment. The successful growth rate is far better than for cheaper plant trainers, which I find perish after a couple of years. My only grip is the lid. It is made of clear plastic and after about 8 years this does degrade and crack, whereas the base and middle sections do not. Agralan will sell replacement clear plastic lids if you contact them directly. Despite this I am very happy with the product and consider them worth the money.
