I ordered this router a couple of years ago, after having difficulties sharing hotel wifi. Meanwhile, I've been using a old phone with hotspot. I'm now in Thailand and decided to give the router a try. After some initial difficulties with set up, I contacted GL.net support who were more than helpful and it is up and running with a number of devices using the router, linked to my accommodation wifi. The key to getting it set up was to download the app and follow the instructions therein. A useful very compact and well-made portable device. My only complaint is that the included instructions weren't clear enough for me. Excellent purchase.

Is there anything GL-iNET do badly? This thing is great! It's tiny, only sips power and has a LUCi interface! Not to mention Goodcloud (which is great for remote admins), WG and open vpn support works great (connectred to my flint 2 at a remote location). Crazy good value for money.

Very small and easy to set up. Only thing to note is that the speed drops to about 6mbps if you are using NordVPN with the OpenVPN protocol on this device. Apparently this is due to the AES256 encryption, which this device is not powerful enough to handle, being used by NordVPN as default setting. Some workarounds with using the Wireguard protocol but it's a bit of a faff to set up if your VPN provider does not support this out of the box (Nord uses a proprietary flavour of this called NordLynx so some hoops to jump through to get it working). Lots of forum posts about this on the GL Net website.

It's a reasonable product but they don't have what I need... I searched online for information about having this service captive Portal, but after checking the settings it's not available. I contact customer services also they said this product doesn't support captive portal . Many sites even Reddit misleading about the right information don't believe in everything.
