Perfect for a side address, large diaphragm mic

The ONLY putoff to this is that it is a tad bulky, and maybe that you have to make sure you are aiming it well. Other than that, this is amazing...but both of those things are actually by design...so, I can't be mad about either of these. If I had a circular cardoid microphone, it would fill the entire enclosure. I have an AT2035, and there is quite some space left in the enclosure.I like how it has the attached pop-filter and the isolation is surprisingly great. It may be large but it works very well. Well worth it for just that.

Maybe the idea works better on paper, or maybe the foam used for this is way too thin or not protected enough. Sounds from outside still flood into the mic easily, and it hardly keeps a voice inside, almost sounding the same but slightly denser. Not worth a giant ball in your face 24/7 but isn't too bad

Around 3 to 4 years ago, these types of microphone isolation devices and half-moon covers for protecting against pops and air currents on condenser microphones started appearing in the market. Dynamic microphones can still be used even with explosive consonants, but with condenser microphones, those explosive consonants like "P" would sound like an explosion! When these isolation devices first hit the market, they were priced at over $200, and there were around five models, all with incredibly strange designs and colors. But when I saw this ball, I was genuinely surprised to know that it cost less than $30. I couldn't believe it! Because as I mentioned, when a product is just entering the market, it wouldn't make sense to invest an average of $300 without knowing its performance. There was one purple and blue isolation ball similar to this one with a price tag of around $600). Perhaps by now, you understand why I was so amazed! I've tried it, and it works very well. I recommend checking the dimensions before ordering to ensure it is the size you are looking for.

Big but works well if you have a mic that doesn't have noise suppression or have excess noise that is picked up this might help.

I have plans on entering the world of podcasting, and am now in the process of assembling the tools in order to make that happen. One of those tools is the very useful GoldenFrog Microphone Isolation Ball.I realized I needed something more than the typical pop filter or thin mic cover. Neither of them did a very good job of pouncing on those "plosives" the way this think did. It acts almost as a mini vocal booth, and is about the size of a human face.Made of a lightweight material, it fits over the top of the microphone. And even if you get right close to it, it continues to work its magic in helping to make your voice sound more professional.I've received nothing but compliments when using it via audio-only, but know that it will block a portion of your face out when used on video. The GoldenFrog Microphone Isolation Ball, is a quality product, and a mainstay of my podcasting setup.

I don’t have a specially treated audio space. My recording studio is my dining room table.And with my voice becoming that of an old man, I am having increasing issues with sibilance and pops.This filter is made with high quality foam and it essentially encases all of the Blue Yeti microphone I’m using.Is it making a difference? I think so. The sibilance seems to be reduced and the pops are minimized. However, it also seems like the limited dynamic range of my aging voice is somewhat compressed.The filter is large, so make sure you have room for it.Do you need it? I’d say that’s a question that can only be answered by testing it for yourself.Jerry
