A.S.98 Thaine Women's Loafers

Beautiful shoes, color, leather quality, style all beautiful. I noticed reviews about the sizing of these shoes. I am a 7.5M, I bought the 7.5-8 perfect.Seller delivered quickly as well.

I'm so puzzled as to why not one else has mentioned how bizarrely long these shoes are. I ordered them in 3 colors and they are all much, much bigger than all my other shoes (both European size 41, and my US shoes in 9.5 and in 10). They look like clown shoes. The sole is also quite hard and thin (I can feel where the heal ends through the insole), but I wouldn't keep them even if they were comfortable because they are nearly 2 inches longer than my feet. So weird.

I was excited about receiving this shoe because of the wonderful reviews. The shoe was very challenging to get on my foot, the heal is floppy; I needed a shoe horn to get on my foot. I used a very thin footie as a sock and every think I walked the shoes made a flatulence sound. There is no way I could wear these with the shoes making this noise. Air went inbetween my foot and the shoe; everytime I stepped down, the flatulence sound happened. Additionally, the buckle is quite large, I felt it was larger than expected; I felt like a pilgrim. Returned.

Never before have I been so in love with a shoe. I feel like a shallow human being for admitting that. I struggled for days whether or not to spend that kind of money on a shoe. After obsessing about it for too long, I bit the bullet and ordered my usual size 10 (41). When the package arrive I opened it with the excitement of a child on Christmas. It didn't fit right. My heart sank. My big toe hit the top of the toe box, which is very rigid. I took them to two different shoemakers, asking if there were any way they could stretch the top of the toe box, without stretching the rest of the shoe. The answer was No. I wept a little bit and returned the shoe. For the next two days I agonized over whether to purchase a 42, which is normally a size too large for me. Again I bit the bullet and clicked "submit order," all the while feeling a combination of guilt over having this first-world problem and the amount of money I was spending, and anticipation. When the package arrived I refrained from tearing it open, and did so gingerly. I put them on my feet. Waaaahh! Too long. Next, and this is hard to admit, I ran to CVS and bought foam soles thinking perhaps they would make the shoes a wee bit smaller. Well, they kind of did, but my heels were still sliding out when I walked. I googled "how to make shoes smaller." Was led to Amazon for heel pads. So many choices. I studied the reviews like a scientist. Ordered them. Waited. Got 'em. Stuck them on the back of the heels. Now these shoes were completely modified with foam souls, heel pads. Tried them on with and without socks. Completely imperfect. What to do? I did not want an expensive mistake sitting in my closet yet I couldn't let go of these shoes. I battled my inner demons over the matter for an hour or so, and then smashed the cardboard box, eliminating the possibility of another return. Yes, I kept them. I am still ambivalent about this purchase, but the shoes themselves are gorgeous. If I don't wear them I will hang them as art to justify the madness. Buyer beware and may the gods be with you.
