***The item is great if you have a simple photo ID that you want to protect. ***But if your ID uses RFI to unlock doors or provide access, the aluminum frame interferes with the process. I had to take the ID out of the case to gain access to restricted rooms and I can't do that every time I need to go in and out of a restricted area.

Fashionable badge holder that is protective
This is a really nice, sturdy badge holder. It looks really nice and holds my badge securely. There are 2 plastic covers that you can sandwich your badge between to keep it protected and ensure it fits into the holder. At first, I thought the plastic was being scratched way too easily, but I finally discovered that there are little protective overlays on the plastic. There is a protective overlay on each side of each plastic piece, for a total of 4 protective overlays that you have to take off. Once I took off the protective overlays, the badge really shines through very bright and looks extremely nice, as if it's not even covered by plastic. Also, they included 2 extra plastic covers in case they are needed down the line. Some have stated that their badge is not reading in this holder... I have an NFC/RFID badge and confirm it works with no problem.

Almost no bigger than necessary.
I ordered a number of different I.D. card holders to try out and decided on this one. I have not used it at work yet, around heavy machinery, but I will update this review after I have had time to put this card holder though its paces.I mostly decided on this card holder because it is the least bulk of any I found. The metal (low quality aluminum) looks nice. The package I received had three sheets of plastic to protect the card; it is nice having a replacement for when one gets scratched or otherwise damaged. The lanyard was not a selling point for me and its a good thing because while the alligator clip is nice, the overall lanyard feels fragile and a little cheap.I put two cards in my holder, One RFID and one other, both the same size as a drivers license. Three cards would not fit, nor would more than one thick card, and try as I might, I could not get even one of the protective windows in with my two thin cards, so I opted to not use them at all. The cards slide in from the top, and are kept from falling back out by looping something through the hole at the top of the holder, so don't plan on trying to use this as just a metal bezel around your card, your card will fall out.I do not expect the metal to stay pretty for long where I work. I also expect it to be rather bent up. but as long as it can bend or hammer it back to nearly flat, and it afterwards still holds the cards fine, I will call this holder a success.

A trend aluminum badge holder
The aluminum badge holder is perfect. It’s sturdy and appealing to the eye. All my coworkers asked me where I got it from because they want to get it. Got tired of waisting money on plastic badge holders. I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the neck lanyard itself, which is made with a cheap plastic piece that holds the aluminum holder and broke the 1st week with limited use. However, the aluminum badge holder itself is top quality rated 5. I highly recommend this product, good price, but I recommend purchasing a sturdy neck lanyard. You don’t want to take chance of it breaking and you lose your ID. The opening where you insert your ID is secure because that is where you attached the lanyard. Final note, the aluminum badge holder will last years to come, no issues with RFID or RFI reading when I swipe in with security, just remember to remove the shipping protective plastic from the actual ID plastic protection shield cover. Very good buy. I attached pics but covered my ID info.

INHIBITS RFID sensors
I’m not satisfied because it’s design blocks the RFID sensor in my work badge making it impossible to swipe through access doors. You have to remove the badge from the holder entirely for the sensor to work. They should have tested the badge on RFID and indicate if it’s RFID compatible. The lanyard it came with look nice but appears to have cheap plastic at the disconnection point. Seems it will soon break. I purchased a separate more durable lanyard to replace the one it came with

Works with my 125 kHz proximity card
The badge holder seemed to be packaged very well, so I was surprised there was a bend on one edge where the ID gets inserted. It isn’t noticeable from the front of the ID, just the side, so not a big deal.I noticed in other reviews that some people said it would block RFID badge readers, while others said it would work. It might just be certain frequencies. Mine is an Indala 125 kHz proximity card and works fine. Maybe there is an issue with the newer 13.56 MHz proximity cards?I didn't like the included lanyard, but I was planning on swapping it out anyhow.I was previously using a soft plastic holder for my ID, which has been ripping apart. My company gave me a hard plastic holder, which won’t rip. But because I also have a key hanging from my lanyard the hard plastic holder it is kind of noisy banging around as I walk. There is very little noise from the key when used with this aluminum badge holder.Overall, I'm very pleased.

Holds your ID straight, light, and safe. Buy this one.
Tired of a badge holder that twists? Buy this one.Concerned about getting hurt if something hooks on your badge holder? Buy this one.I’m compelled to write a review on this ID holder. I’ve had a few and I had two issues. One, they always seemed to be turned the wrong way. Two, if you work around equipment or lift things, getting your badge holder caught can lead to serious injury.I was already pleased with how strong and light this was and how it sits with my ID facing 99% of the time, then today it happened. It hooked on a piece of equipment at the worst time, in the worst position and the clasp release perfectly. No pain, and no damage to the holder. I couldn’t ask for more.
