Great customer service
Was purchased as a gift for my wife. Works very well. She uses it for holding plants as well as small lights for macro photography. Keep in mind it does have a relatively small opening maximum. She lost the little black rubber band and they sent her 2 replacements the very same day. Very good customer service.

Must have for micro photography
You can't take micro photography of flowers in the field without this! This thing has been amazing. I know it's a plastic adjustable arm with a clamp, but seriously, it clips to your tripod and hold your flower or want ever you want to photograph so still and to reposition it any which way. A simple twist to the clamp and your subject is moved in fractions of movements getting that perfect composition. My only thought is I wish they sent a few extra bands for the clamp. Everything is fine now, but if it were to snap the clasp would be unusable. Would a regular rubber band work? I hope so, but have looked at that.As for the clamping part. It holds delicate things without an issue. My latest outing shooting flowers I didn't notice a single scuff to the stems at all.Would certainly purchase again if need be.Also something to think about. While clamping to your camera tripod works, the perfect set up would be to have this attached to something other that your camera tripod. As the little movements of adjusting your focal ring shows the vibrations into this arm making it harder, not impossible, but harder to focus on the subject.Again, would definitely buy again.

Great flexible arm
A little on the expensive side. But we needed a non-metalic articulating arm to hole RF antennas in position during testing. This did the trick! The only metal piece is the spring in the table clamp.

The Plamp Is Like Having An Assistant
I do floral and nature photography. I work alone, so this is like having an assistant. I work outside and in a studio. I often clamp it on fences, tables, chairs, light stands and my tripod to hold flowers steady or my reflectors/diffusers. That side of the Plamp is strong enough to hold it solidly in place. I purchased the stake with it, but haven't used that yet. The tip of the clamp that holds the subject is a soft rubber so I can easily screw it down just enough to hold the most delicate of subjects like flower stems so they don't get pinched. There is a notch in the very corner that holds reflectors/diffusers and heartier subjects like branches and stems. I just screw down that end as tight as I need it to be.My only problem was the clamp side that holds my subjects has fallen off on occasion when I've tried to rotate it into position. After a few times of it falling off, I've learned to manipulate it so that doesn't happen. I think this is meant to be removed if you want to add extensions and then you reattach it. The stem/arm part of the Plamp is very stiff, sturdy, easily manipulated and stays in place.Overall, I don't know how I lived without this. I know people who've made their own using foam coated wire, but this Plamp's design is great and serves its purpose very well. I'm sure I'll purchase another one in the future.

First off let me say that ALL of the Wimberley products I have purchased in the past are great. I love supporting a small company that is constantly innovating. This Plamp Stake is no exception. I’m a big fan of the Wimberley Plamp for macro photography, and this accessory makes it even better. Just shove it into the ground and you’ve instantly got a pole to attach your plamp to. It’s particularly useful when I’m using the Plamp to hold my subject because I can reposition my tripod without disturbing the subject. I like that fact that I can always remove the Plamp from the stake and attach it to my tripod for holding diffusers and reflectors. I was a little dubious about the manufacturer’s claim that it would penetrate even the toughest ground, but I was pleasantly surprised. I like to drive the screwdriver into the ground with the stake attached (like a short handled shovel). So far it’s handled every ground type I’ve encountered. It’s a pretty simple concept, but very effective and well thought-out (the blade stows away inside the plastic sheath, and you can even combine them in series to make a taller pole. Wimberley makes quality products and you couldn't go wrong with anything that they make. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Great product.
I had tried to save money by buying a cheaper product elsewhere. It was a mistake because the clamp was not substantial. I replaced it with another but it was very heavy and, although it was good for supporting heavier objects, it was not particularly gentle. This one is perfect; particularly for supporting plants when photographing them in breezy conditions. The clamp at one end is strong enough to clamp to an object such as a tripod leg or a branch while the one at the other end is gentle enough to hold delicate objects without damaging them yet powerful enough to support something like a small light. It is well made. I also bought one that can be placed in the ground with an integral spike. I would strongly recommend this clamp to photographers.

Does what is expected.
It did seem a little strange at first realising that the “ground spike” was in fact a screwdriver but it works. Being a plant photographer it provides a great solution to carefully hold flowers in position when there is a breeze. It is very useful to be able to secure the clamp to the ground by using the spike (screwdriver). It is sturdy enough to hold small lights. The clamp is gentle enough not to damage plant stems yet strong enough to properly support heavier items such as a reflector or small light. Although I do not use it everyday I have found this to be an invaluable purchase. It is also well made.

Expensive but very well made
The gadget is expensive but it is sturdy and very well made.I am using it for macro in the field and it perfectly fit its purpose. It is strong enough to grant a stable positioning and the clip can be gently tightened so that it does not destroy delicate leaves and stems. After 1 month of use I have no durability issues, and would not expect any as the product looks rock-solid.Would definitely recommend it and will probably get a second one.

Stracomodo
Costoso ma utilissimo per completare il set con il braccio flessibile della Wimberley, buona fattura. D'altronde non credo che ne vendano migliaia di pezzi e questo sul prezzo influisce.
