Timing Belt Kit for Honda Civic 1.7 LX DX EX (2001 2002 2003 2004 2005)

This was a nice complete kit for my 04 Civic. Was a little reserved about buying this kit, a little cheaper than other kits I saw and concerned that parts may not be exactly right. Everything fit just fine. Not sure how the quality compares with Honda parts but they appeared to be ok, will see with time. If you don't have a crankcase pulley removal tool, get one before doing this job. Have done a couple of other timing belts without the tool, and it is well worth the $20 for this tool. What took me hours before (lots of trial & error), took less than a minute with this tool.

The tensioner was defective, missing a piece. It caused the belt to slide out of place and it jumped a tooth. I had to go purchase a tensioner locally for $75. So much for being a bargain. :(

I purchased this product in January 2014 and Installed it in February 2014. This kit provides just about everything you want when doing a timing belt change and after reading the 5 star reviews and reviewing the price this seemed like the way to go. So 10,000 miles later driving on the freeway at 80 mph my car started making a loud rattling sound like something was loose under the timing belt cover. Lucky for me the timing belt stayed intact and was just tight enough to keep everything rotating as it should. I pulled it apart and found that the spring of the timing belt tensioner wore through the hole that the spring hooks to on the tensioner as a result of a defective tensioner. I have not yet had any issues with any other parts with this kit but I have no trust in them and will now stay completely OEM if possible. The tensioner was made by NSK.

Everything I needed to complete the job, all Parts acceptable in a good condition. I will continue to purchase parts.

This kit did just about everything the engine needed. Japanese parts, it all fit together as it should. Good price and no more oil leaks. I also did the oil pan gasket. This kit saves you money over any auto part store or repair shop. I had a shop install it and just paid for the labor.
