Excellent choice for year-round open pool in NE Florida
Some important background info before proceeding with my review:I live in NE Florida where full pool closures are not only rare they are actually discouraged. The weather is such that the pool water will never freeze over, however it does become too chilly for most folks to tolerate between November and April. My water temp falls below 70 in late October/early November and isn't comfortable again until Late March/early April (case in point, it's January and the current water temp is 47*F). I run my pool pump year round to keep the water clear, and run the pump continuously during periods of hard freeze to prevent the pipes from freezing. That said, I purchased this cover to keep leaves out, not ice or snow. As such, there is NO full liner between my net and my pool water.I found an 18 x 36 pool leaf net "NIB" at Pinch-a-Penny for $130 but wanted to try Amazon first. I am *SO* glad that I did! I found this one in "Used/Like New" condition for a fraction of the NIB price (around $42). When it arrived, it was not in the original box, however it did have instructions and the net itself was neatly folded. I'm guessing this one was a factory 'second' due to the large seam running the length of the net and three 10-12" seams that appear to be repairs. Aesthetics aside, there are no holes and it works beautifully.I was able to deploy this net, by myself, in less than 15 minutes. Two people would be able to deploy this is less than 5, I'm certain. It is designed to lay on the surface of the water, not suspend over it, as I originally thought. Even though it is in contact with the water, the leaves remain dry and it has yet to 'dip' or 'sag'.The net does does not inhibit circulation and I can still pour chemicals, retreive water samples and access my skimmer with ease, though the last one is no longer a necessity, since my skimmer has been empty since deploying the net (a sure sign that it works!)I am extremely pleased with my Dirt Defender pool net and look forward to seeing if it will capture those pesky little crepe myrtle blossoms next fall as well as it is the oak leaves now.

Cover fits
This cover fit my 38 x 18‘ pool it’s lightweight not as heavy as my last one but because of that it’s a little easier to roll up. It does tend to go to one side a little bit when I’m rolling it up so I have to keep pulling it and making sure it’s going to evenly so that it doesn’t get real bulky and out of alignment when I’m rolling it up similar to what I had which does warm the pool up well doesn’t keep all the dirt out but it helps. It’s kind of hard with one person, taking it off and on with a reel but that’s my situation I bought it mostly to warm up the pool so it can be used more during the season. We’ll see how long it last the last one I got did not last as well as I thought I tried first one I bought lasted probably three years last one I bought startedvfalling apart after about a year and a half. I wasn’t real thrilled because the price is getting higher , so this one I hope will give me at least two seasons

I would order this again and still may get an extra one to put up!
Works great to catch the neighbors big leaves that seem to gravitate over into my pool. Being hurricane season & remembering the years past after storms would come thru.. I ordered this leaf net to save myself a headache. Storm came thru just as I put it on yesterday and wow at the time it saved me today because I didn’t have to get those leaves & sticks out of the bottom of my pool. A leaf blower took care of what was on the net. Little stuff still falls thru but the vacuum can handle that and not get clogged up. I did throw all my floaties in the pool to keep them from blowing away in these storms that are headed our way. No more chasing floaties down🤷🏻♀️I’ll be Sharing this on my social media for friends who have pools and may not have come across this idea yet. I didn’t even know it existed until I spotted it on Amazon looking for a cover for the pool. I may be ordering another to put up incase this one gives out on me one day. I just need to get something proper to hold it down flat but for now these concrete blocks work for me. Mine was perfectly intact when it came..no holes or snags!

Ok, but get the cover w/bags
Works well...just wish it came w/bags to fill w/water to hold down. We had to use cement blocks, bricks & other heavy objects.

Owned this for 3 years... works as designed and desired
Bought the 20 x 40 net... back in winter of 2020.... We are still using it...Each year, we take the net (that has been semi-sorta .. "folded or thrown into a clump" ... simply stretch back out and put it on the pool. The first year.. we used the "pool tubes (i.e. tubes full of water) .. and placed them so carefully around the pool... Worked flawlessly....Second year.. just used some fasteners (okay ... others would call these bricks and/or painted 2x4s) .. to hold down the net.In all seriousness.. because the net is large enough to cover the 24" walkway around the pool.. the net fits really well.I would /will certainly buy this net again. Our expectations were, that after 3 years.. probably would have to buy a replacement.... Not true .. now going on our 3rd year... will re-use it again on 4th year (who knows maybe longer). When you consider the cost(s) of nets vs tarps... for us at least.. no brainer.Long story short: works as described and as desired... Will certainly buy again
