Val McDermid is the best author ever! If you like a good mystery, which I do, you will love all her books. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, hate to put it down & can't wait to get back to it. The characters become real people to you. You will never figure out the ending til you finish the book.

Absolutely love these book just gutted that’s it’s come to an end

I am a great fan of Val McDermid's writing, and I am amazed how each book in the Tony Hill-Carol Jordan series gets even better than the last. Her plotting is legendary, and I am so impressed by her characterization. I like books with "meat on the bone," meaning I want to be left with something to think about after I've finished, and McDermid's writing is always rewarding in that requirement.
