Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

I purchased this after reading it to my students with the curriculum. I was happy to have the additional verses of Twinkle Twinkle in the book. I purchased this book for me.

Okay, I am "old school" - and was dubious about ordering this book as one of our book selections for our "50 For 50" anniversary party. Yet the art work that I saw in the preview intrigued me and I took a chance. ... Worth it! Taking the original poem by an early 20th century (?) lady which (along with the memorable melody) became a child's ditty song for generations, this talented, early 21st century artist has masterfully revived and excerpted the best and most familiar lines of those lovely, delightful lyrics. Fortunately, he didn't stop there. He also carefully, cleverly altered just a bit in her wording so that the message not only equals but now transcends the original through his remarkable, and equally lyrical storytelling displayed in his almost profoundly glorious artwork! Brilliant! This volume offers all children, no matter their demographic data, colorful windows into wonder, imagination, aspiration, and appreciation. It is truly a star in the sphere of children's literature! I plan to buy another copy to give to our youngest grandchild. This beautiful book was well received at our anniversary party held for 50 two to four year olds at a downtown, daycare center, as it will no doubt be by all others fortunate enough to receive it.

Song didn't quite line up with illustrations, but fantastical nonetheless. Prob best for older toddlers or 5 and up.

This book is absolutely beautiful! The illustrations are wonderful and our 15 month old daughter just likes to look at all the pages. There are several pages that don't even have text on them, but I think that will be great as she gets older and we can encourage her to describe what is happening in the story (using her imagination, which is great!)! This is one of those books you want to put away in their baby box to keep forever and pass it down the generations, but at the same time want to keep out to read before bed every night! Maybe we'll have to buy another copy! Recommend it for toddlers and older! Really beautiful book!

I chose this book as a Christmas gift for an 18 month old grand child who loves to sing this song. I love everything illustrated by Jerry Pickney, an African American artist. Mr. Pickney's illustrations are beautiful, rich and detailed. He has won many awards including the Caldecott Medal. Through Amazon, I actually bought five different books, written and/or illustrated by Mr. Pinkney. He was in a nearby town recently for a museum showing of his other artistic works. He also did story times, drawing demonstrations and book signings. 2 of the kids met him and I was able to get all of the books autographed. I am sure that all of the grand kids will love the books, share them and cherish them..

This is an extraordinarily beautiful book for toddlers with gorgeous art depicting one of childhood's most beloved songs. Because this is a favorite song of the special toddler in my life, I bought it as a special gift to explore on his first long plane ride. His mommy and daddy were able to read the book with him, discuss the art and finish off with singing each page until he curled up to nap while winging above half the country. Fellow passengers were impressed with how it held his attention and his parents' soft singing was a calm and gentle passage to restful nap time while on board. Voila! No annoyed fellow travelers and one happy little boy.

My son and I love the illustrations in this book. We read it almost every night. We first rented it from our local Library and it became a must have book every time, so I decided to buy the book and let others experience this version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

This is a very sweet book with wonderful illustrations. I bought it for my two year old nephew as part of an amazon book box and he loves it. He loves it so much he takes it into bed with him to cuddle with.

My daughters favourite story

Lovely book it's my little boys favorite poem. Too many pages with nothing written on it however.
