Q: how does this compare to the contoured tempurpedic?

It is completely different. This is just a cotton fill as the Tempurpedic is a memory foam. The memory foam will last a LOT longer and is more firm. This is just a cheap cotton fill roll. Flattens out relatively quickly, but at 14$ for two is much cheaper. Also the Tempurpedic pillows are pretty heavy so if you're thinking of this for travel etc, this light weight might work better, you can squish it to fit in a suitcase.

Q: How firm is this pillow?

Not soft like a feather pillow!! I agree with the person who said 7 on a 1-10 scale. Decently firm enough to make up for the softening that will happen through use. I'm VERY happy with the quality and price, as well as the fact that there are 2! My only wish is that they came with pillow covers! I'm using the one off of my chiro pillow that's going in the trash!

Q: Does it come with a pillow case?

Does not come with a pillow case but it fits a regular queen size pillow case, stuffed it in the bottom/short side of the pillow case, then did the roll then flip/tuck to create a nice neat case.... How? Start by stuffing the pillow in the bottom/short side of the pillow case that is inside out. It will seem tight but it would be just the right nice snug. If you hold the open side of the pillowcase and let it hang, the pillow should be parallel to the floor. Now roll the loose part of the case around the pillow, then at the end, flip the ends (like when rolling 2 socks together) so that the good side is now on the outside. Tuck the case around the ends of the pillow and you have a nice tight custom looking pillow case.

Q: Can it go in the dryer

Yes, washer and dryer worked fine. Unfortunately, it didn't help with the softness of the fabric covering. I don't recommend this product because of the poor quality of cotton cover they used. Not good to sleep on. Would be okay if you just want a decorative pillow.
