Even with an expensive 16 channel system, when through the program you turn off a camera, all it does is turn it off at the monitor. Since my system is run off solar, I don't want power to contiue to remote cameras I don't normally monitor so there switches work great to shut off that power with "the flick of a switch." I'll have to figure out a permanent mounting solution but for now, they are Gorilla taped in a bank right on top of the DVR. Perfect, inexpensive solution to preserve power for off-grid security systems.

One of my 4 came with something loose in the switch housing (part of the plastic housing). There's only a small strain relief in the switch housing, so you're reliant on the soldered cables to hold things together. That said, it does work.

While the 3 that do work did their job well, there was 1 that was DOA. It was not worth shipping back for a replacement.
