Puss in Boots

Jerry Pinckney never disappoints. My girls love this and all of his books. Clever puss in boots is a delight.

A nice retelling of the classic tale and gorgeous illustrations by Jerry Pinkney.

Beautifully illustrated, not difficult for my 7 year old to grasp and stuck to the general and original story book classics storyline.

Many years ago when I was young my Aunt used to read this book to me. The book cover on this edition is very close to what she used to have. The story has not changed and the illustrations were excellent.

Gorgeous illustrations and an engaging story, this is my four-year-old's favorite picture book. We have been reading it often for six months. (And this is in a house with lots of children's library books and books he owns.)

イソップものがたりの「ライオンとねずみ」「うさぎとかめ」を臨場感いっぱいに描いたジェリー ピンクニーの作品ということで、気になりました。さすがにこの話しは単純ではないので、前２作のように文章は省かれていませんでしたが、彼らしいこだわりは充分に込められています。特に、物語が生まれた当時の風俗や建物など隅々の描写がみどころ。今では世界中に数多くある「長靴をはいた猫」の絵本。その中でも由緒ある血統を受け継いだ正統派と言えます。ラストで新天地をめざす猫の姿は、17世紀に生まれた物語が世界中に広がっていく未来を暗示したとも受け止められますね。

The story is well known but what make this book lovely is the quality of the illustrations. We were super impressed and our little boy loved it too. The writing is for children but not babyish, with longer paragraphs which are perfect for a 6 yo. Definitely one of the children books we enjoyed the most.

I bought this book for my grandson. The illustrations are really beautifully done. I remember having a copy of this one when I was a child, and my sister recognised it too. It's really a lively present for a child.

This is an awesome edition. the illustrations are so beautiful. It is a truly beautiful book to have. A must have for any library.
