Excellent product that does for me what it’s designed to do.
Excellent product, for what it is and purports to be. I have a torn medial meniscus, patellar malalignment and osteoarthritis in my left knee. Before I got this brace, climbing and descending stairs was very painful and my knee felt very unstable just when I walked on flat ground. After about three weeks of wearing this brace at all times except when I sleep and shower, I can now walk and climb and descend stairs pain-free, so long as I’m wearing the brace. In fact, I’ve done a couple of 10-mile moderately difficult hikes wearing it, with no pain. And I can now ride a bike. It’s not a $500 Unloader Brace, so I don’t know that continuing to wear it is going to enable any of my conditions to heal. But it does provide some vertical support, and regular use of it for 3 weeks enabled me to return to my usual low impact activities. While I’m wearing it I no longer have pain or instability.I’m 67 and don’t do high impact activities anymore, so I don’t know whether it would enable me to do them.Sizing: Based on the size guide on Amazon, I bought a Medium. On my bare leg it fits perfectly, and comfortably. But it’s too small to enable me to put it on over jeans or any but the thinnest pants. So you may want to order up a size.

Great quality brand
Weight is good. It was too bulky for me so I easily returned & bought a different Don Joy brace that can get wet & super lightweight. If u hurt badly like bone on bone knee then it does work well for pain. Chose Don Joy for performance & high quality product. Recommended by ortho. Professional sports teams like football use brace. I ended up choosing the one that Olympic skiers used.

Not bad, but could be better
If you are looking for a general knee brace for minor injuries and are not 100% sure what to get, this is one of the better options on Amazon. It is a much better quality than any of the cheaper quality “performance braces” and it’s a good value for the money spent. I tore my PCL 15 years ago, elected not to do surgery at the time (I was about 20), but now experience medial patella luxation. I bought this to replace my favorite performance brace until I can get a custom one, so I really didn’t want to spend over $100 while I wait to be fitted for my custom brace.Pros: 1) Not bulky, light weight, fairly comfortable. 2) I am able to run and maneuver flawlessly at high speeds without being held back by this knee brace. 3) I feel pretty stable while running on uneven surfaces without pain caused by the brace. 4) The hinges so far move smoothly - I beat my braces up and train on dirt surfaces.Cons: 1) The placement of the velcro for the wrap aspect of this brace is definitely awkward, making it difficult to put on especially if you plan to use it for your left knee. 2) Most knee brace sizing says that if you are borderline for their sizing guide - size up. This is not the case with this brace. I sized up and have regretted that decision. 3) For some reason they have added a “stash pocket” which they thought was a cool idea, but just seems silly and awkward in my opinion.Overall: not a bad brace for the money, but definitely not ideal for me.

Great brace
Great brace, but wouldn’t fit under my ski hub pants. Had to return.

Comfy enough, but dinged for poor design...
I bought two of these. One to replace a very aged medical grade knee brace from over 20 years ago and another one for my poor right knee that's been taking the brunt of weight distro for all these years. When I was a teenager, I did catastrophic damage to my left knee in a football injury that has unfortunately stuck with me for life in causing my ability to walk normally having been greatly affected. As I get older, of course, age and other injuries to the same joints has taken a toll. I've torn my ACL 4 times in my left knee as well as the PCL twice. The original injury left me without the ability to walk without assistance for life, in which this case is, I must have a hinged brace in order to prevent lateral movement which does and will occur without the brace. My hope with this brace was to find a suitable alternative to 'medical' grade braces which are extremely costly and not so easy to get for someone of my leg sizes. My original medical grade brace was a "wrap around" like these. So the GOOD:They're comfortable over long periods of time and usage. When I'm out, I typically wear a brace for 8 or more hours at a time. These breathe extremely well, but DO soak up a LOT of sweat, so that may or may not be a downer for YOU.The BAD:Horrible design for the wrap around part. Absolutely the worst placement of the velcro flaps, EVER. My wife actually has to help me if I want these to seat correctly and fasten the right way. The alternative is, having the velcro eat into the sides of my leg/knee joint, if it isn't aligned just right. If Don Joy wants to redesign these and send me a pair to test, I'd gladly do it, if they can do a proper wrap around brace. Medical grade wrap around's velcro over the top of the knee which is far more comfortable and easier to align without velcro eating into the leg, knee, or joint (or at least they did over 20 years ago).CONCLUSION:If you can't get medical grade wrap around braces for whatever reason, these ARE a good alternative. If you can deal with some of the design flaws or you have smaller legs, this might be a good brace to go with. If you're a larger leg guy like me, shop around more and see if you can find a wrap around with flaps that go over the top of the leg/knee, because I can guarantee you, you probably will find the same issue with this brace as I did on a larger leg.

Awesome support that has great mobility.
These braces are adjustable and fit very well, especially with the different sizes available. I have had total knee replacements of both knees and the Donjoy Bionic Knee allows me to comfortably stay active with high impact training, jogging/walking four miles a day and yes, snow skiing 20 days per year. They are washable and durable. I have 8 of them in my rotation.
