Good Buy for Field Work - But Don't Last
I purchased these to go with a set of Midland GXT1030VP4 radios. I am a Land Surveyor and frequently work in high-noise environments. Initial quality appears good and they work well with my radios. The TX button is responsive and the collar clip swivels to fit. The sound clarity is crisp and bright.I prefer to bring my radio up over my shoulder rather than up my chest from the waist. As a result, the slinky cable is a little tight, but I would also attribute that to its being brand new. I expect it will stretch out after moderate use. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. My only complaint about the design is that these mics would benefit greatly from having a 90° turn at the plug end since the connection at the radio is on the side, rather than the top.Update: I have purchased two sets of these and after about a year the PTT button has failed on all four of them. I am unable to determine the cause, but I suspect it is the diode/capacitor on the circuitboard.

These work great, considerably lower in price than Midlands
We use Midland radios out in the field. These work great, considerably lower in price than Midlands, but have had no problem. The sound volume is great and the mic picks up MUCH BETTER than on the radio itself. And they are pretty water-resistant. (I don't want to soak-test). Just went through some major rains the last 2 weeks and have had no issues.I did try the earpiece jack and that didn't work out very well (couldn't hear). When I have time to test that, I will update. The only negative (not worth a star) is the length of the cord. If it was maybe 6 inches longer, it would be perfect. Some of us have short bodies, but some guys are over 6' tall and the radio at the waist with the mic going up their back to clip on a shirt causes issues. Looking at buying some 3.5mm and 2.5mm extensions if I can find them or will try to make my own.

Just did not work properly
Bought these for use with my Midland LXT500VP3 radios. I could hear the speaker activation tone on the receiving end but the voice transmissions either didn't come through, or were ridiculously low. The speaker seemed to work somewhat when I unplugged it from 1 of the 2 radios, but again, when I tried to send a return transmission to the radio with the speaker plugged in, nothing would come through the speaker mic. I gave it 1 star because, for what it did transmit, the voices came through quite clear.

GARBAGE...does not work
This speaker microphone does not work on portable CB radios, specifically, the Midland 75-822. It receives, but it doesnt transmit, at all. I ride with a motorcycle club, and 5 different CB radios didn't pick up any of my transmissions. They should make it very clear, on the main advertisement, that these mics "ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CB RADIOS". DO NOT BUY if you you're looking for a portable CB mic.

Definitely WATERPROOF and Durable
Used by cyclists for three days in miserable weather in May. Worked perfectly with my Midland radios. Mikes were always wet but kept working and still do after a good drying out. I need to get 4 more for next event.***UPDATE ON 27 NOV 2017*** - Since this review I have purchased 4 more that work flawlessly on both of my Midland GXT650 radios and all 4 of my LXT600P radios. I recently needed 2 more radios so I ordered them along with 2 more mikes. What I received were 2 LXT600PA and 2 more Arama MT600 microphones. The mikes would transmit clearly but would only receive the carrier signal with no voice on the newest radios. So I checked the new mikes on all of my other radios and found they worked flawlessly. I called Midland and they all but admitted that they have changed programming or hardware to disallow non-Midland microphones. It seems that the letter "A" at the end of the model number shows the newer, non-compatible version. This has done nothing to change my stance on the Arama mikes - They work great but Midland has altered their product. Be forewarned on newer Midland radios but if you are in possession of older models this mike will work well.

Didn't hold up 2 days.
The mics worked great the first day. The next day one would not received incoming transmissions. The other one I can barely hear it. Both send out a faint transmission. Very disappointed. Will look for another brand to purchase.

Arama A600L02 a good purchase.
I use this microphone/speaker with my Midland GXT1000VP4 at work. Rugged, with the best sound quality I have found. You have to hold it close when transmitting when there is background noise, but is true for most units.

Easily rewired the mic now works perfectly
Had the right jacks but wouldn't work with the X-talker T61VP3. Easily rewired the mic now works perfectly. VOX will not work with mic setup.Very good quality for the price.
