Great Look. Thicker 125 Version Has Great Theft Resistance. Velcro Straps Take Longer Than Other Locks Quick-Clip Stows
Love the style, look, and light weight. While any bicycle lock can be cut quickly with a portable angle grinder, it seems most thieves use bolt cutters or pry devices. The thicker 125 version of this lock is substantially more resistant to bolt cutters than the thinner 75 option and u-locks, and both Ti Gr thicknesses are much more pry resistent than standard size u-locks. Smaller u-locks are more pry resistant than larger u-locks, as there is less leverage space.Like most locks, this has the ability to scratch bicycle paint and bodies, and objects it is locked to.While most of the lock body is encased in thin clear plastic to reduce this effect, wherever the thin blade edge drops on paint or bicycle body while handling - or bounces on a bicycle while riding - slight damage will be done.So if this matters to you, use one of the enclosed velcro straps snugly near the front while riding, and one snugly near the back, to keep the lock from bouncing anywhere on your paint or frame while you ride. Also consider applying clear racing tape (I got mine at the same time here on Amazon) to your bicycle to protect the paint. Or add racing tape to the blade edges of this lock to further reduce or eliminate paint damage. The Amazon description did not say a pair of velcro straps is included, so I spent $ buying a pair separately. Probably a good idea to have a second pair though, for when the first wear out or are lost. The rounded ends of the velcro tabs are so thin that the manufacturer should put a little tab there, to make it quicker to peel it away from itself and loosen the straps. If there is no precipitation, I just stick the lock down into my unclosed pannier to save strapping & unstrapping time. But if you DO stick it straight down into your pannier, the two little black rubber bands near the ends of the blades (to reduce abrasion risk to your bicycle) will rub themselves off the blades, into the stuff in your bag, and be lost.I bought both an XL bicycle and the largest (30") version of this lock. The lock is good sized compared to the bicycle, so the lock is a bit unwieldy to handle, carry, and use. It sticks out a little behind (& below) the seat while stowed for riding. If you want better aesthetic and for it to consume less space, get the next size down. The shorter version will, however, reduce your locking options. And the 75 wide version will have substantially less bolt cutter resistance.Due to the velcro straps for in-transit storage of this lock, u style locks are quicker. Especially if you have a quick-click bracket on your bicycle to hold a u-lock.But u-locks may be even more prone to paint and body scratching, especially if and when the plastic or rubber coating on a u-lock starts degrading. Or when you accidentally bang the metal u ends on your bicycle before putting the u back inside its lock bar.

He said it is great. He was right
I took a pic of the TiGr to a locksmith and got his opinion on the lock before purchase. He said it is great. He was right. The lock is great and is great quality. Most thieves should leave it alone.Note: the small size which I purchased will not lock both wheels to frame, so I use it to connect frame to a post, etc.

Hardware is great, service is extraordinary
I have followed the company since their Kickstarter days and owned the lock since the early production. The hardware is excellent, and the customer service is remarkable. They have always provided a lot of information and shared the results of development and testing. I've had several email conversations with John and always got thoughtful, clear explanations and answers to my questions. They presently offer a free update to the original bow by adding a couple of cleats at the ends that make it much easier to align and secure the cylinder. A nice improvement in the one area that was originally a bit clumsy. In addition to taking care of this with one-day turnaround, they also replaced the cylinder with an updated version (not sure if this is part of the standard free upgrade), repacked the lock with a new set of straps, and returned it at their cost. Again, this was all free except the postage to send in the bow. It is very clear that they care about their customer relationships and the quality of their product. Anyone who says otherwise cannot have properly communicated with TiGr.Reviewers who claim that the lock is worthless, a ripoff, etc. must not understand how to use it or what it takes to break it. No lock is perfectly secure, but this one is as good as anything else on the market, and is ⅓ the weight of the good alternatives. Check out independent testing by an accredited third party, the ART Foundation in the Netherlands. TiGr makes it clear that the 1.25 version is more resistant to bolt cutter attacks than the .75, which is of course lighter and less expensive. And bolt cutters are not the only threat.OK, I am a finicky customer. My main ride is a full-custom Moots (for those who know what that is) and this is the only lock that I am happy to carry and feel good about using when I make a stop and can't keep the bike with me. My conclusion is that TiGr offers the best hardware trade-off for enjoyable riding with drastically reduced worries about theft. Their stellar customer attention is a great bonus.

I call it the Lady Lock - all men must buy for your lady bikers!
I call this the LADY LOCK - all men its a must buy for your lady bikers! I had bought 2 u-locks before this trying to find one that I liked and would provide security, but they were so heavy and uncomfortable! Now there is the TiGr lock - its light weight and attaches right to the frame of the bike and looks so good! I recently went on a bike trip across the country and used the TiGr lock the entire way with no frustration or problems - its seamless! So if you're going on a bike tour - its a must! You can use it to lock your bike anywhere (I have the long one), especially when you have your panniers attached to your bike and need more space to attach your bike. My boyfriend and I each have one and we actually used them to lock our bikes around a tree so you don't even need to find a bike rack. After using it every day for 3 months straight I cant think of a negative comment about it. And if you want to meet people just wait untill you see how many people come up to you asking about your lock! It was the most commonly asked question on our bike tour across the country this summer. It may be more expensive when compared to other locks, but it is WORTH every penny! Its the elegant bike lock!

Difficult to use on womens bikes and bike locked with it was stolen.
While the lock looks really great, it's difficult to use on women's bikes that have a dropped top tube. I purchased this about 2 months ago and the bike was stolen along with the lock shortly after using it. I had it on a Fuji 2.0 Absolute womens bike. The lock is super light weight and looks really cool on the bike, but you're better off with a short U-lock for less money.
