These are great ceramic burr mills for salt & pepper. The adjustable coarseness is a plus, and can give you whatever level you desire for your food. They work well and have held up so far (4 months of use). After reading up on the use and storage of these kind of mills, I'm of the opinion that as long as I take care of them and store & use them appropriately, they should last me a good long while. Because there is a steel frame that helps hold the ceramic burrs in place, there is the risk of rusting/corrosion. The way to prevent this is to ensure they are stored in a dry cupboard or somewhere away from moisture, and definitely away from the stove/range. Any moisture will find its way to the grinders, and we all know what happens when salt and water mix and what that mixture does to metal, especially steel. We also don't use them directly over a cooking pot or anything steaming, as this will cause the steam to collect as moisture on the steel holding in the ceramic burr. Basically, we use them at the dinner table only and only over plates.

This salt and pepper grind set have a nice looking light oak finish. The operation is very smooth and produces a nice size grind for both the salt and the pepper. The only minor drawback, which is no way affects the function, is that the "S" and "P" are only printed on one side of the grinder tops so depending upon the direction they are facing you sometimes have to spin the unit in order to determine which is salt or pepper.

Great product. I gave it four stars only because it's Amazon Prime and it took five days for delivery. Color is awesome and grinders work perfectly. Totally adjustable. Delivery was during the holiday season so I might be a little critical. Nice addition to my kitchen.

I've been using these now for a few months and I am so happy I took the time really read the reviews (and learn about ceramic or metal grinder mechanism vs plastic). These are fantastic! I was seriously about to give up hope that there were any really good grinders out there. We grind both our salt and pepper. These grinders have the ceramic grinders, full wood bodies. They are beautiful to boot! Classic and timeless and work perfectly, I couldn't ask for anything better!

CRAP! Bottom line. Had I known the milling grinders were anything but metal, I'd have never bought these mills. The salt mill lays pretty heavy on the dispense. The pepper mill is totally lame. Grinds like it trying to mill stones and dispenses on the light side. Both are rough to turn, especially the pepper mill. If I wanted this kind of quality, I'd have settled for the disposable kind you get in the spice section of "THE" department store.They do look pretty nice though.

Nice set for the price but they don't seem to hold setting with top screw. Find ourselves constantly adjusting them both.

The product arrived timely, and wasn't damaged, and works as I expected. It is adjustable and grinds effectively.My only issues are:1. The head has a piece that goes INSIDE the chamber of the inner cavity, which reduces the amount it can hold, as well as making it a bit cumbersome to refill. I have to "guess and check" that I haven't filled it too high, or the head won't fit on.2. The adjustable screw has little resistance (on both) and constantly moves around during grinding, so consistent sizing of the ground seasoning is hard, unless you take lots of consideration for this while twisting. It still works fine, but tends to be a bit more cumbersome than I thought.

I was very happy to find a matching salt and pepper grinder set (not just a standalone pepper grinder) that are wood instead of steel and glass. These look very attractive, work well for grinding sea salt and black pepper, and have lasted over a year now without wearing out. They seem to be excellent quality.
