Very good phone.
I’ve only had the Jethro SC628 for a few days but I am impressed with it so far. I use the cell phone mainly for my “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”, and in case of any emergency when out of the house. This phone has a special 911 button, on the back, hold for 3 seconds and it starts the sequence calling for help. 3 numbers can be programed for calling and at 76 years young, that was a selling point for me.My eye sight is just a little better them my hearing, so this is a lot better for my needs.I have been using Consumer Cellular for a few years, I just plugged in my old SIM card and was back on the air. Consumer Cellular suggested I replace the SIM, so they sent me a new one.It has a little better reception on my 3G, AT&T network, them my old Nokia had.The only complaint I have is the User manual, while adequate, could be a lot more informative. It does get you close enough to figure it out, with a lot of trial and error button pushing, but this phone has lots of features, and what many do, or what they are for, is still a mystery to me. So I just assume I don’t really need them. I guess they assume everyone knows what SOS, or SMS means, just not me.The phone does accept a 16 GB microSD to store pictures and videos and also interfaces with my computer to move the photos for saving, email, etc. The same cable that powers the desk top charger, is also a USB interface cable, another great feature IMO, just put the phone in the cradle and it charges. After a couple of months I have found carrying this phone in my pocket often turns it on and pushes buttons, the beeps alert me to the phone I had carried turned off, is now on and who knows what it's sending? I would suggest a hard carrying case.

MY REVIEW ON THE JETHRO SC628 3G UNLOCKED SENIOR & KIDS CELL PHONE!
Hello everyone, here's my VERY POSITIVE experience of the Jethro SC628 Senior or Kids phone!I'm a huge iPhone fan but my parents are getting old and purchasing them an iPhone 5 was a mistake. We purchased the SC628 model phone with the separate desktop charging dock for our parents who want a simple and easy to use phone, I can’t say enough how happy I am with my purchase, I've been looking for a simple phone to buy them for a long time and it seems that everything out there is either an iPhone or Samsung but this is absolutely perfect for my parents who dropped their iphone5 numerous times! The functionality of this phone is simple and self-explanatory, It is very durable and good quality! They've had a chance to use the phone for over a week now and we received lots of calls from them ever since with no dropped calls or bad reception!Their area doesn't usually pick up great signal and its mostly 3g only but all our conversations we had was clear, crisp and most importantly no dropped calls!!!The phone also comes with a SOS button which I find to be handy for them in case of an emergency, iPhone should come up with that if they want to cater to seniors. I also like the idea of having a M1 and M2 speed dial. We paired M1 to call me directly and M2 to dial my wife. The Ring tone is loud for them to hear and definitely nothing to complain about there! :)Hope this quick review helps you all make an informed decision!Kris

Excellent phone but I cannot recommend it for seniors
Tough to write a review for this. First as a phone it is excellent, performs that function well, has good clarity (on both ends), picks up a signal well, and has an easy to navigate menu with nearly all the options one could want. The pre-programmed "M1" and "M2" numbers are just what are needed for use by seniors, the large red hangup and green call buttons also make using the phone easy to use. The title for this phone contains the words "Senior & Kids Cell Phone, Easy to Use". Kids will have no difficulty mastering this device and in general I'd give 5 stars with regards to Jethro as a phone. For seniors however it has a fatal flaw.On the edge there is a rocker button one side of which enables a flash light function (possibly useful) and the other side locks or unlocks the keyboard when depressed for more than two seconds. I bought this phone for a senior hoping to make his life a bit easier but instead added nothing but frustration to it for the first two weeks of attempted use. Plus it was burden on the family with all of the added trips to help out, each time discovering that again the phone could not be used for purpose due to the keyboard having become locked.Unfortunately there is no setting that disables this locking function. My solution was to take a knife and pry out the lock/flashlight rocker button. So far so good. Nonetheless I don't think that deliberately damaging a device should be necessary to get advertised functionality. As I said that the start: difficult to review. For the purpose which I bought the phone I'd give it the lowest rating available. If you are looking for something for a senior I would highly recommend finding something other than this device. If you just need a simple phone for a child or perhaps yourself then by all means, 5 stars for that purpose.
