Q: How rigid is this board? can i put it up by itself safely with some impalers for soundproof? and is there any nrc rating data available? thanks.

You can install it by itself with enough pins, though it may shed fibers. Rockwool recently changed their part numbers. This was formerly ‘RHT80”. They had NCR ratings on their old sheet, but not on the new one. When asked about this and they said that because they changed the part number and haven’t retested it they can’t say it meets it, although they expect it to be the same as RHT80.

Q: Does it come in 15" widths?

Unfortunately no, however it can be cut easily.

Q: Is this rated for under concrete slab insulation?

SL 960 is not rated for under concrete slab, or at least we’ve never tested to any standard. The insulation may withstand the pouring of thin concrete, but the loads that would be placed on top of the concrete would probably compress the insulation too much.

Q: Can I use this in a generator box as high temp and noise insulator?

The max operating temp is 1200 degrees F and it is a sound insulator.
