Not Roderick - Jan - we share our Amazon account. This was a lovely read of friendships and it’s lifetime impact on several lives, of lives intertwined & lives gone sideways and come back around. The only thing missing is the missing epilogue: do Lexi & Tris get together? Is there a child in Lexi’s future? And one in Clare’s & Adam’s? They all deserve their HEA.

This is a great story of childhood friendships and how they shape relationships as we age.

First I like to say it was a wonderful story. About two best friends to grow up together. I would like to add that there was far too many graphic sex scenes. Otherwise, I would’ve given the book 5 stories just as good without all the graphic sex scenes. I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore of Nancy Thayer‘s books. There are other authors who write beautiful stories without all junk it in. I prefer a clean read…

A predictably comforting "beach" read,  Moon Shell Beach  brings to the reader all the ordinary elements of such a tale--friendship, betrayals, redemption--with the satisfying culmination in romance.Lexi Laney and Clare Hart grew up on Nantucket Island, fast friends who revel in their beach adventures --specifically those involving a unique island haunt, a hidden cove they have named "Moon Shell Beach." When their bond is frayed by serious disagreements, Lexi leaves the island with her new husband, wealthy Ed Hardin. Clare remains behind, engulfed in island life, and opens her own "Sweet Hart" chocolate shop.When Lexi returns many years later, divorced and bereft of any money or comforts (due to a prenuptial agreement), she opens a boutique--right next door to Clare's. She specializes in distinctive items, many of them expensive, and has named her shop "Moon Shell Beach."More resentment arises, as Clare feels that Lexi's name for the shop is another betrayal. She has co-opted something that belonged to both of them.The author brings the story to a satisfying, yet predictable conclusion, with the women forging a new bond and also finding new romance.Thayer's style is easy to delve into, and except for the predictability of the events, it is a satisfying read. After getting hooked on Nancy Thayer with the Hot Flash Club books, which are laugh out loud funny, with characters that are wel developed and easy to relate to, this was disappointing. The first half of the book reads more like a stale summary to provide the backstory for the second half of the book - written like the author was trying to bring the reader up to speed about what happened before the real meat of it. Except that the back story really was interesting or compelling - and maybe not even necessary. The second half of the story - the real story - is where Ms. Thayer starts to get into her groove, but it's too little, too late.Since I know that this author has it in her to write a truly engaging story, with people I just like 'hanging out with', I'll gladly continue to download and read her other books, but I really can't recommend this one as being representative of her potential.

This is a perfect summer read. Lots of romance , beautiful clothes, jewelry, scenery and Chocolate! Also a beautiful beach. What more could you want?

I love the description at the friendship between the two girls and then of course the two women. I also love the description of the two businesses that they owned that was right next door to each other but yet so different one from the other. I also loved how Jewel totally believe her father was still alive and how Lexi hoped with Jewel. Great story great ending.

The story of childhood friendship extends through laughter and tears. Lexi and Clare prove that true friendship can survive. Nantucket is the background setting.

Brilliant read and arrived quickly from USA

Wonderful book about friendship, love, and happiness. Must read it but reserve time because you would not want to put it down!
