Amazing camera. So so clear, had motion and sound alerts as well as temp gauge. Perfect clear view!! RE the past reviews- people are not understanding (which is clearly stated) is that it does not run on 5gz wifi, everyone has 2.5gz and some companies give you 5gz.. if you are running on 5gz it does work but the sound is delayed, the picture freezes and it doesn’t connect properly. You need to put it on a 2.5 and it works PERFECTLY! So all the reviews about bad software is because like me ( I didn’t think my wifi had 5g) it was awful until I read into why and fixed it!! ( easy google on how to get camera connected to 2.5gz! )

When I bought the Camera in early 2020, it seemed to work reasonably well. Setup was easy and it was great to have a live stream of our baby in the cot.Over time, we started to experience issues with the camera feed. Eventually, I ended up spending a lot of money trying to improve my WiFi infrastructure in the house (strange requirement considering there had been no changes during the time we first experienced connectivity issues). I made sure that my access point was transmitting on an unburdened channel. I contacted my ISP to make sure our (already very fast and reliable) broadband wasn't experiencing intermittent issues. I had to buy a WiFi smart socket so that I could cycle power on the camera (to get it to reboot and reconnect) without having to enter the nursery and disturbing the baby.Improving our WiFi coverage seemed to have added a slight degree of reliability, but very little. In the last couple of weeks (October 2020), three things have happened, and it can't be a coincidence:1- Owlet update the app to Owletcare 1.7.1 (3480)2- The camera firmware updated to version 1.9.13- We observed a significant drop in the reliability of the camera to connect and provide a feed.80% of attempts to connect fail and we are met with a black video feed and status updates jumping from "Connecting to camera..." to "Connecting...". Even most times when we see the status "Receiving video footage", we either still have a black feed or else we observe a still shot from the camera. The audio feed is mostly silent but we may hear about half a second of audio every 30 seconds or so.When we do have success in accessing the feed, we daren't attempt to view in full glorious 1080 resolution, in case it causes drop out again. For a product of this cost and importance, I think Owlet should be ashamed of the fact that it was somewhat unreliable before and has deteriorated to completely useless now.

Great camera and app that allows for connection to the smart sock. Easy to set up and the cable routing system gives more options to mount it and hide the wiring. The audio and speaker function allows for speaking to baby and listening when awake etc. The camera does need to be fairly close to the WiFi router, I had to buy a booster to use reliably.

It keeps disconnecting from my WiFi and having to keep going in to Baby's room to reset the owlet again.

The camera is quite good quality. A good competitor for others on the market. We have the sock too and just love that you can see your baby's readings while watching them on the cam in real time. The only reason we did't give a full 5 stars is because the sock has limitations in the UK. But overall, the camera and sock bundle are a definite must-have in my opinion.

Bought as a present and they like it

I bought the owlet sock and wanted to buy the camera to have the whole system paired and so I can view my daughter easily, however, the owlet camera couldn’t cope with my wifi. I have 100mb download 14 upload. So that wasn’t the problem. I contacted the owlet customer care team and all they suggested was to keep restarted and reintroducing it onto the app. Which I have already been doing. After a week of thw customer service team returning an email back to every other day rather than responding well. I sent it back and bought a much better and actually works system.
