LAFCO New York House & Home Candle

Nothing better than a Lafco candle. Burn time feels endless, this is one of their best scents (in my opinion) and don't forget to soak in warm water when candle burns out so you can reuse the beautiful hand blown glass jar. Purchased too many to count. Great gift or treat for yourself and your house. Cannot say enough good things. I always have a backup on hand. Amazing fresh, clean scent -- perfect for the office or bedroom. The scent is not particularly mysterious or complicated. It smells like rosemary and mint -- not sweet mint, more clean, fresh mint.I think the rosemary aroma is fairly strong. So if you like the smell of rosemary, you'll like. And if you don't like rosemary, I suggest you pass. The glass jar is exquisite, a beautiful multidimensional green, and the burn is quite slow and clean, so I expect this will last a while. I wish it came with some sort of lid to keep it covered between burns -- but that's my only complaint. Expensive, but quite lovely and long-lasting. The glass jar is gorgeous -- the picture doesn't at all do it justice -- it has beautiful shading and variations in the pattern. I use the glass jar as a penholder -- it is exquisite.And here I am a few months later, back to buy another one! LAFCO candles are pricey -- but they burn so slowly and cleanly. For me, burning this while I work at my desk at home adds a little luxury to my day.

This candle is my favorite scent from LAFCO. The subtle, watery scents of lotus and cyclamen create a soft and relaxing fragrance. I have trouble getting headaches from many scents but this one has a wonderful subtlety that I can burn in my home for hours at a time. I feel it is a great scent for those who may be sensitive to a lot of other scents. According to LAFCO it has an approximated 90 hour burn time.FIRST USE: You should let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the glass the first time you light it. This will help it to burn evenly.TIPS: The ideal burn time is up to 3 hours at a time. The wick should be kept trimmed at 1/4" each time you relight it. I always save and repurpose the hand blown glass when the candle is done. To do this effectively, I put it in the freezer until the wax is frozen. Then you simply break up and scoop the frozen wax out of the glass. After that, you can just wash the glass in the dishwasher or by hand with warm water. You can use it to hold pens or flowers, as a tea light holder, etc.

I only was able to use 1/4 of this candle, the wick started in the middle of the candle, but after a few burns, the wick moved to the edge of the glass, and it was unusable. This candle is expensive, too expensive for this to happen.

I would give it no stars if I could. It has almost no fragrance at all! Before I bought this one,I was given the same candle from a friend and it had a beautiful fragrance that lit up an entire room. That is why I went back to the same fragrance after I had burnt the first candle. This must have been SO OLD! I should have sent it back immediately, but I thought it might smell stronger if I tried burning it, so now I'm stuck with it.

I've been buying these candles regularly for the last 10 years. I've always loved them but I'm now ready to move on. The last three times I've ordered them the wick hasn't been centered in the candle - which of course means uneven burning so a large portion of the wax never melts and is therefore wasted. I'm done paying this amount of money for what I now consider to be a medium grade product.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to splurge on this candle. It smells so amazing! I have the same scent in a soap that I keep in a clothing drawer as a sachet, and I'm so happy to have the same scent that I can bring with me from room to room and enjoy. Much bigger than I was expecting! A nice touch is that the candle comes with instructions for optimal burning. To get the most out of this incredible-smelling luxurious candle, I'm so glad they included that.I may have to buy like 5 more... crossing my fingers they don't discontinue this item any time soon!!!

FAIL for Lafco! They should remove it from their product line because it is such an insult to their brand name. There is hardly a scent! You have to get close to it even smell it, which is highly unusual for this brand. To pay this much for a candle, I expect it to be fragrant and it isnt.
